Rode Videomicro Compact On-Camera Unidirectional Wired Microphone with Rycote Lyre Shock Mount, Black

I record video with my Conon 70D and audio with my Galaxy S8. This is easy to sync later. The camera is not capable of recording the sound in the format I like nor is it as crisp or clean. With my smartphone, the Røde adaptor and an external app I can record clean, crisp sound outdoors at 48khz WAV which is very easy to sync later. I also trialled plugging the mic into my camera and it had a hum and more noise. On further investigation, this is the camera, not the microphone. This microphone comes with a Global 2 year guarantee when purchased from this seller, which is really important for me as I live in Sweden. I was shocked to discover last year that Samsung does not as I bought a Galaxy S7 in India which did not work in Europe and was not guaranteed at all. In fact Samsung produces inferior products for the Indian market, even though they are the same price as Europe. This time I did my homework and am very satisfied with my purchase.

Rode has always been the go to in the market for good audio gear. This one is no exception. It does a pretty good job with sound on my canon. Its really good value for the price. It comes with a wind sock in the package so that's a blessing. The microphone itself feels good in the hand and is pretty good quality. So is the wind sock/protector that comes with it. I would say that about the mount though. The mount that attaches the camera to the mic feels very flimsy and cheap. It handles the mic and the shocks from that camera very well, but still gives you a mini heart attack now and then. You have to be very gentle with it. There is a noticeable hiss from the mic when you listen to the raw clip but it's easily correctable in post production. Also, you might want to change your camera audio settings from auto to manual when you put this on. Works better that way. It is a pretty good product from rode and its decently priced. You wouldn't be too disappointed if you picked this up. Cheers, Vyshnav Baburaj.

Ii returned this because I Purchased for video recording songs but this mic is a Drlirectional mic ! This Mic is good and sound quality is best but not suitable for Those who want to sing and also Playig guitar together , this mic can't pick up my Both of Sound , vocals and Guitar together ! It has Noice Cancellation! So it can't take 2 sounds properly

Not a good mic for iPhone. I bought this specifically for my vlogging and videos I make from my iPhone. Recently I tested 3 videos one from indoor and 2 from outdoor. One project was a paid video for my client - where I was disappointed with the sound of the person speaking. I wasn't very far from the person - however it didn't give a good sound. The same mice with my DSLR Canon 550D has a normal output - not that bad. When we record from very close it has a good quality sound but this is not a collar mic to always keep close. Not worth the price

Received it in two days. It's a great mic if you are into vlogging or want to make YouTube videos. Just plug it in your camera or laptop and it starts working. Note that the mic will not work your Smartphone using the included cable and you'll have to buy a separate cable (tested with Nexus 5, LG Q6 and Redmi Note 3). The furry windshield does a great job of blocking the wind noise.

I bought this with probably high expectations, because it was Rode brand. However, for the price it is quite disappointing. Noise cancellation is crap. I shot one video with this mic and despite no fan, there was slight white noise. Audio quality-wise... The low-end gets reduced and the mid to high-end is amplified a bit. However, the difference in quality of the audio of this mic and my camera (Canon 200D Mark 4) wasn't notable. If you're a beginner and need something to work with your phone, this might be a good choice. But if you're an intermediate creator wanted to invest in a better sounding mic, I'd recommend to check other alternatives. (Edit after 2 months of use) I was searching YouTube for ways to make this mic work better and found a video where it showed that the camera's default settings is the reason behind the background noise of the mic. So I changed the camera's settings and the mic is working better now. So if you get this mic, know that you'll have to make setting changes to that the mic does not work with high sensitivity while recording. It's a pretty decent product.

A light Weight Microphone with Good Sound Clarity perfect for Outdoor Usage This is my first product from this company and my experience has been good so far. (I have done a detailed sound comparison review on YouTube. You can search "Best Budget Microphones for YouTube by the Indian Dreamer".) There was lot of models available with them but I selected this because it is light weight and does not requires additional battery. It takes its power directly from the camera. As per my observations, the microphone is good for outdoor usage. Along, the wind shield flurry cover, the wind noises were suppressed to a great extent. But, when I tried using it indoor, I noticed some hissing sound. Which I had to remove later in the editing. The rycote shock mount works perfectly in reducing noises due to vibrations. It fits very nicely on the camera's horse shoe mount and does not increases the overall weight.

I took the trouble of making this review to tell how satisfied i am with this Rode Video Microphone. This is even better than Snowball i purchased here at amazon which let's out a lot of pre-amp sound. Although people with good outspoken voice could capture there voice by Snowball Microphone, but its more expensive that this Rode Video Microphone. Some good point: 1)Compact and great in design. 2)Captures good sound that is enough to make youtube videos. 3)Provides Warranty. 4)Very satisfying experience. Badpoint: 1)The frame that holds the microphone is made of plastic, it doesn't make the mic stand straight towards ur mouth. It kind a loops down. Output: I will provide a link to a youtube video(after few days) and decide for yourself. I am satisfied and would encourage other people to get it as well. But u can use it on a DSLR camera like CANON or NIKON or SONY probably and modern day DSLR camera that has an outlet to accept this mic. Which every modern day camera has, this is simply great, i am very satisfied with it. Although i am looking for more professional mic and audio capturing devices.

El precio del Rode, no es muy caro considerando lo que estamos comprando. Claro que hay una que otra opción mas barata, pero esta marca nunca me falló, y la recomiendo bastante. La presentación es simple, empaquetado igual, y contamos con una hoja de garantía. El mic es ligero, plug- and go, y de buen material de construcción. En lo personal lo uso para vlogs, al ser youtuber este es de mis mejores amigos. El mic lo uso en una Sony Alpha A6300, lo corre bastante bien. Sientes una calidad significativa al usar este microfóno. La calidad aumenta al igual que el echo se reduce. El micrfono va de la mano con un cable rojo que es bastante extensible, por lo tanto es bastante flexible. Como capricho me hubiera gustado que este fuera rotatorio, para poder moverlo libremente dentro de su misma base, me haría uno que otro vídeo más fácil de grabar. Pero en fin, bastante bueno y recomendado. Si estas buscando un microfóno a buen precio DEJA DE BUSCAR, COMPRA ESTE, Y MEJORA TU CONTENIDO. Gracias.

Lo compré para utilizarlo con una cámara Panasonic HC-VXF990EGK que de por si no captura un mal audio, y la verdad es que con este Rode la mejora del sonido tanto en potencia como en calidad es más que notable, sobre todo en exteriores. No entro a valorar que es lo que pueden hacer otros micrófonos de gama más alta porque nunca los he utilizado, pero con este chiquitín y con el precio que tiene, de momento fenomenal. En cuanto al micrófono en si, os comento tres cosas rápidamente. 1.- A simple vista se ve muy bien, construido con materiales de calidad y con un buen acabado. La presentación en el embalaje perfecta. 2.- Sobre el soporte he leído algunos comentarios diciendo que es muy endeble. Bueno, no olvidemos que además de sujetar el micro, la otra función de esta pieza es la de amortiguar las vibraciones y hacer de aislante entre la cámara y el micrófono. Esto implica que su construcción no puede ser totalmente rígida, ya que si así fuese perdería una de las funcionalidades principales para las que fue diseñado. En mi modesta opinión considero que con un poco de cuidado no debería presentar el más mínimo problema. Por cierto, a mi me vino en rojo y la verdad es que en ese color es muy bonito. 3.- El peluche, como el resto del aparato, parece de buena calidad. En mis pruebas, con viento moderado a débil ha funcionado perfectamente. Resumiendo, muy contento con la compra. Si eres un aficionado y te interesa mejorar el sonido de tus vídeos sin gastar una pasta, sin duda este es tu micrófono. Un saludo. Edito, enero de 2020: Después de haberlo utilizado en unas vacaciones de dos semanas y haber filmado más de 7 horas de vídeo en prácticamente todas las condiciones posibles, mi opinión no puede ser mejor. Os comento: 1.- Tanto la nitidez como el alcance del micrófono son fantásticos. Se puede grabar una conversación perfectamente a cinco o seis metros de distancia con un buen resultado. Además consigue un sonido ambiente muy agradable, sin estridencias ni distorsiones, incluso filmando en lugares con un fuerte sonido de fondo, como tráfico o aglomeraciones de gente. Por supuesto todo esto comparado con los micrófonos de la cámara. Como dije anteriormente, no entro a comparar los resultados que se obtienen con este aparato con los que se pudiesen obtener con otros micrófonos de gama muy superior y por supuesto con un precio muchísimo mas elevado que este, ya que nunca los he usado. 2.- En cuanto al peluche, los resultados son fenomenales. Incluso si las condiciones del viento son más extremas, como pude comprobar filmando desde un barco navegando en el mar. Eso si, es importante llevarlo bien colocado, ajustándolo perfectamente contra el soporte para que el viento no se cuele por ningún lado. 3.- Sobre el soporte, lo que comentaba al principio. Aplicando al micrófono el cuidado mínimo que tienes que tener con tu cámara, no tiene el más mínimo problema. 4.- Otra cosa que me sorprendió es su bajo consumo. La verdad es que no noté una diferencia significativa entre la duración de la batería de la cámara con el micro conectado, en comparación a cuando no lo llevaba. Bueno, ya para terminar. Si en el mes de octubre recomendaba su compra, ahora que lo he probado a fondo, me ratifico totalmente en lo dicho. De hecho me decidí a editar esta opinión porque creo que la que había puesto inicialmente no le hacía justicia. Ojo, por supuesto hablo de mi experiencia personal, que como todos sabemos cada uno habla de la feria según le va en ella...... Un saludo de nuevo y espero haber podido ayudar a alguien.

Zugelegt habe ich mir das Rode VideoMicro als Ergänzung zu meiner Canon M50. Deren internes Micro funktioniert, nimmt aber viel zu viele Umgebungsgeräusche, inklusive Geräusche der Kamera und des Objektivs, auf. Mit Rode Mikrofonen habe ich bisher sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Ich habe 2 verschiedene bereits im Einsatz. Daher war auch in diesem Fall das Rode Micro meine erste Wahl. Hinzu kam der günstige Preis. Lieferumfang: 1 Mikrofon 1 Rycote Lyre-Aufhängung (rot) 1 Anschlusskabel (rot) 1 Windschutz 1 Kurzanleitung 1 Garantiekarte für Produktregistrierung. Das Ganze ist sehr stabil in einer Plastikschachtel verpackt. Kein Blister, sondern einfach leicht zusammengeschobene Schalen. Sehr löblich. Montage: Es liegt eine Kurzanleitung bei. Diese ist gut bebildert und erklärt nicht nur die einzelnen Komponenten und deren Montage, sondern weist auch darauf hin, den Lautstärkepegel der Kamera anzupassen. Die Montage ist aber wirklich selbsterklärend und in einer Minute erledigt. Dass man den Lautstärkepegel kontrolliert und ggf. anpasst, war mir auch bewusst von meinen anderen Kameras. Hierdurch wird auch jedwedes mögliche Mikrofonrauschen (konnte ich nicht feststellen) eliminiert. Einstellungen: Das Mikrofon wurde von der M50 direkt erkannt und es musste nichts extra eingestellt werden. Allerdings habe ich, wie oben beschrieben, den Lautstärkepegel angepasst (nach unten korrigiert). Das Mikrofon braucht keine Batterie, sondern wird von der Kamera gespeist. Hier sollte man vor dem Kauf seine Kamera auf Tauglichkeit prüfen. Qualität: Erster kurzer Test: meinen Sohn in der Küche gefilmt, Radio im Hintergrund, Mutter und Tochter in der Nähe. Mit dem M50 internen Mikro hört man alle Geräusche, inkl. Einstellungen an der Kamera, ungefähr gleich laut, was zur Folge hat, das mein Sohn so gut wie nicht zu verstehen ist. Mit dem Rode Mikro, das sich nach vorne orientiert, sind zwar Radio und andere Personen noch zu hören, aber eben nicht im Vordergrund, sondern irgendwo hinten, nicht mehr störend. Die Geräusche der Kamera, z.B. Einstellungen am Objektiv ändern, etc. sind NICHT mehr zu hören. Mein Sohn ist einwandfrei zu verstehen. Und so erreiche ich mit diesem Mikro genau das, was ich möchte. Ich hatte z. B. das Problem bei einer Aufnahme, das mein Atmen stets aufgenommen wurde. Das hat die komplette Aufnahme gestört. Wer will denn diese asthmatische Keuchen die ganze Zeit im Ohr haben? ;) Wie gesagt, mit diesem Mikro entfallen die ungewollten Geräusche komplett. Was mir nicht gefällt: Dass man die Farbe nicht wählen kann. Dass kein Aufbewahrungsbeutel dabei ist. Dass der Windfang so groß ist. Bei der M50 ist der Mikrofonanschluss auf derselben Seite wie der ausklappbare Bildschirm. Ist das Micro eingesteckt, lässt sich der Bildschirm zwar noch komplett aufklappen, aber nicht mehr drehen. Bei Innenaufnahmen habe ich keinen Unterschied gehört, ob mit, oder ohne Pudel/Deadcat aufgenommen wurde. Ein Windtest folgt, sobald möglich. Dieser wird hier entsprechend eingetragen. Preis/Leistung passt. Für den beabsichtigten Einsatzzweck, YT und Urlaubsvideos, einwandfrei. Bisher bin ich sehr zufrieden und kann nicht anders als volle Punktzahl geben. Update: 11.09.19 Eigentlich müsste ich auf 4 Sterne runter gehen, da der Pudel/Deadcat bereits nach kurzer Zeit nicht mehr fest sitzt. Der Grund, weshalb ich das nicht mache, ist der versprochene Windtest, welchen das Mikro einwandfrei absolviert. Ich habe hierzu einen Auszug meiner Video-Rezension eingefügt. Update: 12.09.19 Der Pudel sitzt einwandfrei. War ein Anwendungsfehler.
