I've used unbranded batteries off Amazon because they're cheaper. It was about to be donated at Goodwill when I spotted it and grabbed it back. I replaced the old inexpensive batteries with Rayovac. Lo and behold it started working like gem! Nothing is more disappointing than getting an expensive teddy beat for Christmas and it doesn't do what it says it should. Its eyes are stuck in one position and doesn't respond to anything but does the same exact thing. I bought it for $50 bucks for my six year old girl. Now she's asking if she's got a broken one and very sad that it doesn't do anything like what she's seen on the advertisement. It's so stressful. It ruined our Chrismas mood.
