Poet In New York

The books is excellent but the quality of paper is very thin. I was surprised by that because copies sold in Spain seem to use better paper.

Colecciono ediciones diferentes de Poeta en Nueva York. La traducción es buena. Varias ediciones cuentan con ella. Pero esta no puede considerarse una nueva edición a excepción de la portada que es muy atractiva. En la descripción del libro deberían hacer constar más detalles. Desde luego no debería faltar nunca la editorial, el año y el lugar de la edición. Así como si es una primera edición.

I was thrilled to recieve this edition.... Not only did it include the edited introduction by Christopher Maurer......giving a comprehensive background of the author's life as he composed these great works..... but also included a series of letters that the poet wrote home during this same period..... that give an entirely different perspective on the man...... and his work. The man's life was troubled.... his poems deep ... and often dark..... but his letters reveal the joy with which he percieved/embraced ... his life experience........ I am delighted by this aquisition!!!

Only for the fact that I can receive these kind of books in Kosovo is something I will aver be grateful to Amazon for.About the book itself: As a Spanyard I have to say I already read this poetry book several times; Although this is very much personal, as you may know it is probably among the highest standards ever reached by poetry in Spanish.What I was expecting with the book is a good quality translation (it was for a present to a friend who only speaks English...) and this I definitely got!Feelings are difficult to translate, poetry is basically impossible... but this translation focuses much more on the feelings of the Poet in his trip to New York than in the perfect rime or rithm... and that I really do appreciate.My friend is already enjoying the book.Thanks a lot.A.

What a wonderful gift this made for the Lorca lover in my family. I bought this as a gift and it was the perfect surprise. He especially loved the side-by-side translation of each poem.

Really Pleased with the purchase. Apart from this being a great collection of poems this version has a great introduction and additional material. The seller was great, very quick service, well packaged and although clearly read before there was no issue with the copy of the book. The price was also incredibly reasonable. Thoroughly reccomended
