Lamy Germany 17 Safari Matte Blue Fine Fountain Pen

Delivered on time ...brand new piece ... write and feels amazing ... the nib is very smooth , as people who have used Lamy pens know that their Fine nib is usually slightly thicker than the other brands. But i am all for it. If you are planning to buy a premium feeling pen ... Buy a Lamy. These things will last for a long time even on regular use. My old Lamy was Purchased in 2016 , still writes like its brand new.... i expect nothing less from this as well.

My first Lamy Safari fountain pen (F)And the pen is a Genuine Lamy product. I have ensured it from some of the YouTube videos, such as Doodlebud.Lamy Safari. I don't have to say a lot as it has been said by the public craze for this pen. I have gotten it in Fine nib (Umbra) Matt black. Mine is genuine Lamy Product. I have tested all the angles and found it to be a genuine product.1) There's some ink residue on the feed. That's the sign that the pen is legit and genuine Lamy product from Germany Heidelberg 🇩🇪 because the company itself checks the each and every fountain pen they manufacture with blue ink.2) The piece of cardboard, which prevents the ink cartridge to blust, has "Remove" print on the upper side only, not in the inner portion of the cardboard piece.3) The engraving of LAMY on the body is perfect.4) In the base of the pen, you will find "Germany" engraved.5) The ink window is nicely designed. You can see clearly through it from this side to the other side.6) There's should be any 1 digit number (mine is "4") on the part behind the ○ type ring which plugs into the cap.I think that's enough for proving the pen as a genuine one. The pen is amazing to write with and has great aesthetics.If you are looking to buy a fountain pen for the first time, you can consider a detour to Platinum preppy (Rs 350) before getting this one. Even though that's very inexpensive in comparison to Lamy, it competes with the writing experience.If it's your Lamy pen for the first time, just go for it.Now, this part is not for the first time buyers.Just one small problem that I have discovered is that there is some inconsistency with the nib manufacturing. This was my second Lamy Safari with Fine nib but I saw a big difference in writing. This one is a gusher and has a little more feedback (this in itself is not a bad thing at all). It's just within the same product line this inconsistency couldn't be overlooked.

This is my second Lamy Safari; you can consider this a veteran’s review. I’ve used the Safari’s over two years with no change in its quality. The nib is very smooth, although the second one I received was a bit scratchy (hence the 4 star). Simple internet tricks fixed it for me.That apart, the pen itself is very durable, and despite being made of plastic looks premium. The converter has a decent ink capacity and gets me through a day of college before refills, and the grooves on the body make for a comfortable grip. The clip on the cap is very sturdy and will not loosen over time. Overall, it is worth the investment as a workhorse pen that will last you years.

Very nice writing equipment... absolutely loving it. Changed over from a ball point to Ink after a long time (basically, high school) - and this is the perfect pen. i had already tested this in the market before ordering here... even though it says fine nib... it ranks alongside medium nibs of most other makes. something that you should be aware off before buying the pen. the handling (not heavy and the right amount of stem thickness for my grip (changes from person to person). it feels solid when you write and i tend to put more pressure on the pen (something i am working on) and it handles my pressure as well as my speed pretty well. very smooth and havent had any issues with smudging or bleeding (ofcourse, depends on the paper as well). this was supposed to be an interim pen before i can move to a more capable pen - but, given how good this pen is, i am sticking with this for a while. Waterman Ink goes pretty well with it and the packing comes with an additional cartridge - so, yay!!!

This Lamy Safari is known by different names. Charcoal, Matte Black, Graphite, Umbra & Umbra Matte. Basically you get the same pen. Lamy always test their pens before sending it out. So remember to flush out your brand new pen with luke warm water before inking it. This helps to clear out the dried up ink and any other small particles - in the nib or feed - that will hinder the smooth flow of ink while you write, giving you a scratchy feel.I bought my pen from Aadhya sales Corporation with a F nib. My pen is a bit scratchy. Not as smooth as I thought it would be. But I hope it'll improve in time. I will post update here.P.S.After 4 months so far no change! I think the nibs gone from scratchy to more scratchy.P.P.S.Instead of improvement it's gone worse. Barely after 7 months of delicate use the F nib has become loose and no longer stays fit onto it's feed. Now I very much doubt if I got an original pen. I contacted Aadhya sales Corporation the seller and they have redirected me to williampenn who are the main distributors and service providers for the Lamy Safari and several other brands in India. I've contacted them. I just hope they accept my pen and repair it free of cost since it's still in it's 2 year warranty period. The only problem I see now is that the warranty card has no date or stamp on it. I'll keep updating the post according to progress. I hope this problem is resolved quickly.
