Ideal for GATE, Topic of CAD-CAM and Metrology should have been included
The reason for a 4-star rating is due to its incomplete syllabus covered for GATE as well as other competitive exams preparation. Demerits of the Book: Topics like Metrology and CAD-CAM are missing from the book. The topic of Material science should have been in a little more depth. Merits: The merits of this book however surpass it's demerits and thus the book deserves a 4 star rating. The concepts, diagrams and examples of the book are really simple and to the point. This book has a great contribution in clearing my concepts of Manufacturing which I was not so confident about before. The diagrams are simple but very clear to understand. Each topic has a nice structure where the Mathematics and physics perspective of the topic is explained. In the second half of the chapter, the theoretical analysis of the topic is written. This has been particularly helpful for me. If the future editions of the book covers the topics above mentioned, then this would be a perfect book for covering the entire syllabus of Manufacturing Engineering.

Best for gate and ese solve all the problems questions may come directly from this book
Mechanical analysis of manufacturing processes is excellent , best for gate and ese but you need to have another standard book for different processes and basic Theory , you can go for pn rao's manufacturing technology , combination of these will serve you better through good concepts

As per my expectations, in a readable condition!!
This book has fulfilled my expectations it has covered all the important topics regarding "Manufacturing Engineering". It is basically written for GATE/ESE/PSU's point of view so you must buy this book if you are preparing for such exams. I suggest don't just be rely only on one book as ME is a vast subject you atleast refer 2/3 book for this subject.

Good for numericals
Most of the content is numericals, not good for theory. PN Rao is better for theory. But PN Rao and this book will be a great combination for competitive exams.

Best Book! Worth it..
OMG! Another masterpiece by Ghosh and Mallick, the popular duo whose book of Mechanisms and Machines had already fascinated me. Forget about competitive exams, this book will serve best to your tastes. Crystal clear concepts and illustrations just make things easier. Up for GATE and ESE, then go for it.. Delivery was fine and book is perfect in all respects of quality and print.
