GREAT EDUCATIONAL BOOKS WITH GREAT ILLUSTRATIONS!
This set is great. Every parent should have it for their kids. Second day we received the delivery of this set my 3 year old daughter already started taking about Amelia Earhart. Brad Meltzer did a great job writing the stories and the illustrations on each book is perfect!

Great intro to history to young kids
These are really great books for kids to learn about great people who made differences in the world. We enjoy reading these books as a family and gives a great introduction to some history to young kids.

Fun reads
My son (4 years-old) loves having these read to him. I wasn’t sure if he’d even care, but he’s wanted to read all of them most nights.

Great books
I bought these for a three year old, a five year old, and an eight year old. The three year old was bored, the five year old was VERY interested and asked some questions and listened thoughtfully and I am not sure what the eight year old thought.Be aware that there is talk of racism, taking on bullies, and feminism, but this is the point of the books. They do have little sayings in each book, such as, "My face will be on the penny one day!" that the five year old repeated a couple of times.Overall, gave the result I was hoping for.

Graphic novel biographies
I love this series. My 7yo loves graphic novels and enjoys reading them independently for fun. I like them more than The Who Was series because of the format.

Fantastic way to intro historical people
These are a great to introduce motivational historical figures to young kids. This set has Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Abe Lincoln, and Albert Einstein. We borrowed the Albert Einstein book from the library and my seven year old was hooked. These talk about more than just the person, and about what drives their interests. Scholastic sells paperback versions but the hardcovers are very nice for repeated use or sharing, for a few dollars more per book at the discounted price of half off. If you have a growing family or classroom to share these in, or like hardcovers, these are nice ones. I got this and the Ordinary Women Change the World Gift Set. My one wish is that they had not overlapped one of the books.::jk

The BEST positive & uplifting books for children!
I ordered this book set for my daughter last Christmas and she LOVED it! I did too. These books are incredibly well written and are chock full of information. Over the last year my daughter and I have read and reread them too many times to count. When I ask her to choose a bedtime book to read she usually grabs one of these books. They've managed to pique her curiosity and she's gone on to research more information on her own. When it was her turn for show and tell she chose to share one of these books her classmates and when I was invited to read to her class she chose one of these books. Mr. Meltzer excels at writing complex information in a way that is kid friendly and ultimately captures the young reader's attention in every page. The illustrations are beautiful and fun. Each book ends with a touching, uplifting message that will make you smile and reflect. Since I purchased this set last year I've gone on to purchase several of the individual books. They're all absolutely delightful. I could go on and on about how wonderful these books are but I'll end by saying that if you're looking for positive, uplifting books for a child in your life get these ASAP. You won't regret it!

These are fantastic!
When both parents are social studies teachers... it's important to find GOOD social studies themed books. These are amazing. They are fantastic. You need to purchase these. We started with I am Jackie Robinson, and then bought this when it was on sale. Our kids love Rosa Parks and Amelia Earhart, so these are perfect. The oldest loves to read them to her younger siblings, and the graphic-novel style really captures younger readers. Again, love these!

Awesome series!
As the mother of two young girls I was looking to add something more historical but still kid friendly to our library- this is perfect! My girls (4 years and almost 3) are engaged and excited when listening; I have fun reading them, and we all learn something!

You can’t go wrong!
These books are awesome. My daughter is four and can ‘read’ the Rosa Parks one on her own. I’ve read them so many times that she understands the story and history. These are very age appropriate. The Einstein one at times can be a little difficult for her but she really enjoys reading them. Even my older boys enjoy them, especially my 10 year old.

Fantastic Value on Fantastic Books for Children
Bought this as a gift; what a deal to get these books as a set in their own cardboard box. These books are great for children and aren't too heavy-handed with their message. The artwork and quality are superb, too.

Wonderfully Written!
This is a very nice set of books! I got them as a Christmas gift for my 6 year old son. He loves them! Each book is well made, with fun and vibrant illustrations. The pictures often have thought and conversation bubbles. This makes for a new twist on non-fiction reading. We really enjoy these. We plan to purchase the entire series.
