This belt is a great design. I love the ratchet feature and as long as it holds up over time this is going to be my new go to everyday belt. Its not quite as thick and rigid as my ESS belt but is more than enough for edc. Not only is it functional but it looks very stylish too. I ordered the large gunmetal one and usually wear size 34-36 pants depending on how I am carrying but the Large is just right and with the ratchet system there is no velcro to adjust for different carry situations. I am so happy with it I plan to order the coffee color although the gunmetal will go with just about any color outfit. The great thing about the way it is designed is you can always shorten it if you do get a larger size and it doesn't quite fit. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? Maybe they have and I just haven't seen it but now that I have I love it.

Boy is this belt ever *heavy.* It's made of thick leather, attached to thick nylon webbing, and includes a cast-metal buckle. So the belt is very heavy and fairly stiff; the buckle is heavy, too.I find it unusual that the leather is on the *inside.* I guess it's to provide strength? That's because leather is basically more attractive than nylon webbing.The ratchet mechanism works fine, and tightens up with satisfying clicks. You need to learn where the release pawl sits, under the buckle, to either loosen the thing or remove it.I'd ordered a "Medium" and they sent me an "Extra Large," which I could actually use, because I simply cut it down more than I would have. But that felt, and was, wasteful.This belt is on sale for $23.70 as I write this, which is much better than the $35.00 list price. Still, I'm not hugely crazy about this belt because it's so thick, heavy, and stiff, and thus not very comfortable. Plus I'm forced to advertise the company across the front of the buckle. Hence my three-star review.
