The meat came out with a nice salted crust and the salt block kept the meat juicy and moist. I wouldn’t grill any other way if I could! The block has a bunch of health benefits as well to cook with, I bought this for my father as a gift for his birthday and he LOVES IT. When it’s not in use, it’s a good table centerpiece in my opinion.

We tried tempering our new salt block for the first time following the instructions exactly, but it cracked shortly after reaching ~300 degrees. This is a 100% natural product, so each one is unique and may have imperfections - i.e. this can happen occasionally.I contacted UMAID customer service the next day and they were awesome. We had a new salt block on our doorstep within a few days, with no further questions asked. And we love the product - everyone in the family has fun around the dinner table when we use it.

I got this for my husband as a Father's Day gift. It arrived nicely packaged. Easy to use and the steak and shrimp cooked nicely on the block with really good flavor. We're looking forward to chilling it to use as a charcuterie board.The block doesn't fit in the rack as other reviews mentioned. We used a oven sheet and that worked well. Two corners broke off when we removed the block during the oven preheating process.Just disappointed that it broke already and rack didn't fit, especially since it was a gift.It's past the return date to request a replacement.

This is a great product. My sister gifted me with one years ago but something happened to it (husband's fault) It does good on the grill and in the oven.

First it takes quite a while to get it properly heated up, but I did follow the instructions and took the hour and different heat intervals to warm it up a few times. Each time it did cook the food well but it was way too salty and you couldn't possibly eat it. I was not able to return the item due to Amazon policy that I missed or I may not have bought in the first place. So I worked with the manufacturer with my issues, they did respond promptly in the beginning and shared a 16 page guide that basically walked me through all of the same steps, which did not satisfy my issues. I asked about a refund/return and shared my order number and then everything went silent and now I am stuck with this product, which I will be donating to a local thrift store. My advice is to do your homework on this item, compare with others and check return policies. I hate to waste things, so this was a waste of food, time and money in using so much heat to get it up to cooking temp.Update to my review 09.18.2023: the manufacturer did refund my purchase and I thought it was important to note, thank you.

Brought these as family gifts this year. Everyone tells us they are excited to try them out. Wish there was refunds /exchanges available, in case who we brought them for didn't want to go through all the steps, but still a great gift over all and looks really pretty. Read instructions carefully & fully!!
