Happy with purchase

i can see where some people may be left disappointed with this, those who thought this was gonna be like a croods kind of film when in fact its a homage to football which in fairness the trailers does seem to skip this theme a little, but you will like this alot if you have an understanding of football with lots of winks to past and present players and with the world cup on is a nice side step from watching all the matches on tv, if you dont like football you probably will miss all the gags and therefore i can see why some didn't like it as much, picture and sound excellent throughout a solid 8/10 if you love football or a 5/10 if you don't

I liked it of course...critically approved of but didn't 'do well' at the box office...I suppose football allusions and societal satire a bit much for the usual Aardman audience expectations...However clever, funny and well worth watching...

Best kids film ever seen for an adult! ..truly captures the arrogance of premier footballers!

We saw that this movie was being released and being the big kid that I am, I made sure that I got to see it at some point. I was excited by the fact of who it was made by and taking into account what they had produced before.The trailer when I watched it lead me to expect exciting things. But...... When I sat down to watch it, it was not what I had imagined at all. The story line was easy enough to follow and what the characters were doing. But it lacked in all areas, most of all comedy and was I thought it was not up to the standard that is normally produced by the people who made it.It had points where you would give the odd chuckle, but it was not exactly roll around on the floor laughing type of movie. Adults might watch it once, but wouldn't recommend it for over 18's or fans of the creators. Definitely a kids movie primarily. I wouldn't say I was bored watching it, but felt let down by the content.

This looks wonderful in 4K - the attached image is a shot of my telly taken with a relatively rank phone camera from distance and it's still got that 'poke your finger into it' depth, lovely.And yes, football is used as the central plot device, but you could certainly enjoy this beautiful film even if you're not into the beautiful game, after all, you don't need to have been involved in a coke heist to enjoy The Usual Suspects, nor do you have to have been used as an organic battery by a machine intelligence to get The Matrix.. 😊Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

I would rate ' Early Man ' 5 star plus because it is a sheer joy to watch. The time an effort that goes in to making this film is unbelievable, from what I know to make 1 to 5 minutes of film takes a week to produce and this film runs for 88 minutes so you can see how long it took to produce. There are some famous voices behind the characters such as Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, Masie Williams, Timothy Spall, Miriam Margolyes, Bob Brydon, Johnny Vegas and others. A film well worth adding to your collection.

As an Aardman fan how could I not like this latest from Nick Park. The story maybe a bit thin - basically a football match - but the characters are fantastic. The voice of Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, Timothy Spall, Rob Brydon and even Nick Park doing Hobnob the dog/pig brings the whole production to life. The story is fast moving enough not to get bored and the excitement throughout gave both giggles and laughs.Most importantly this is a movie to watch again and again, thus giving great value for money.

A fun adventure in the past to get people interested in learning more about the history.

Early Man man not be Aardman's best movie, but it is very, very good. While it is possible to watch the movie with English dialog even with the German DVD version, the subtitles are a constant annoyance, especially on the extras (where they cannot be switched off), and the UK DVD has more extras, as well.

My copy had a loose disc. Just rattling around. Ugh. It did come in a slipcover tho so I'm lucky there!
