What more could you ask for?
As a coach working closely with adolescents, I find this book to be an absolute treasure trove. David Durand masterfully combines his personal experiences with scientific and evolutionary insights to illuminate the behaviors of his target audience. One of my favorite features is the collection of vignettes at the end, which present real-life scenarios, the potential experiences of the athletes, and practical strategies for addressing each situation. This section is incredibly valuable for anyone seeking actionable and realistic guidance in coaching. I am thoroughly impressed by the book’s depth and relevance, and I anticipate referencing it frequently throughout the season.

Not just for coaches
This book was very informative and not just for coaches and athletes. I actually learned a few breathing techniques that I am now using myself.

RUN, don't walk to get this book!
David Durand's "B.E.T. On It: A Psychological Approach to Coaching Gen Z and Beyond" is an essential read for anyone involved in coaching, whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting. This book is a game changer—every sport psychology student, athlete, and coach should buy, read, study, and share it.As the athletic landscape changes, it's critical that we are prepared and ready to help athletes to the best of our abilities. This book goes above and beyond in doing that. As a Master's student studying Applied Sport Psychology, I'm adding this book to my compendium of resources to reference with future clients and coworkers, but I am also recommending it to classmates, athletes I coach, and fellow coaches in the athletic space. There are a lot of books on sport psychology out there ... but this is the one you need. 14/10 stars. Cannot wait to share this with everyone in my program!

A crucial resource for all Coaches in the modern age of sports
In this book, David Durand seamlessly weaves together his experiences and knowledge as an athlete and as a sports performance and psychology coach to bring to life a resource that is crucial in helping coaches understand this current generation of athletes. Durand confronts issues modern athletes, and therefore coaches, struggle with in a social-media dominated world, while also providing a thorough and digestible history and scientific breakdown of the neurological processes driving these issues. Durand's B.E.T. method is a practical tool that significantly aides coaches in helping their athletes to control their emotions, energy, and minds to improve their overall physical and mental health and performance.Part I of this book explains the science and psychology of the human nervous system and how it is impacted by social media and sports in our modern world. Part II serves as a pragmatic guide and resource for taking the information learned in Part I and implementing it with your athletes. This book is a one-two punch of knowledge and execution that is essential for all coaches as they navigate a new era of coaching and a new generation of athletes.

Coach’s best friend
I’ve been coaching high school volleyball for 10+ years. I’ve done a lot research and read a ton of books on mental performance, keeping kids engaged, and keeping them competitive, but nothing has been as impactful as the BET method that David walks you through in this book. David breaks things down in a way that is easy to understand and easy to apply. I wish I would have had this information when I first started coaching.Buy the book! Read the book and then reread the book! And then share it with all your coaching friends!
