Sound Seal 90 Draft, Smoke, and Acoustical Sound Sealant is a non-flammable, latex based sealing compound designed specifically to prevent unwanted noise from traveling from room to room. Product is to be used as a component in construction assemblies for achieving and maintaining the required STC (sound transmission class) rating of the assembly. Sound Seal 90 also serves as a draftstop and smoke sealant, preventing the passage of air, smoke, fumes, and toxic gases. It possesses excellent adhesion to drywall, wood, metal, and concrete. Remains permanently flexible, exhibits minimal shrinkage (< 20%), and resists drying, cracking, and splitting. Cured product is mildew resistant and paintable. Tested to ASTM-C834, ASTM-C919, ASTM-E90, ASTM-E84, ASTM-G21 performance specifications. Low V.O.C. formulation. Tested construction assembly improved from a 39 STC (with no perimeter sealant) to a 52 STC rated wall assembly after acoustic sealant installation.
