Review: Logitech Mobile Speaker Review - The Logitech Bluetooth speaker came in condition as described in the listing. It fits just about anywhere and it is simple to operate and is loud for its small size. The sound is very clear and it functions very well. The range that this speaker has away from your phone is small(at least to me anyway)but decent. The sound is very clear and I cannot detect any distortion. So if you are looking for a small speaker with good sound, choose this one. I believe you will be happy with it.
Review: Spend the extra few dollars on this and treat your ears!! - I have purchased a lot on desertcart, and rarely write reviews. This speaker is so good, I made an exception. I got a Dknight MagicBox II for Christmas and received it I was unimpressed with the lows in music. I was mainly using it for music in my office, but have to keep my volume low as to not disturb my coworkers. It worked fine for movies / netflix / sports streaming on my phone and laptop at home, but left a lot to be desired when listening to music. But this X300 has truly blown me away with the quality and overall build of this product. The music sounds incredible. Highs are very crisp, mids are distinct, and lows are present and distinguishable at a low volume, especially when standing on one end sitting on my hard top desk. Every genre - from country to edm, rock to hip-hop, metal to folk and bluegrass, this things handles it all so very well. Easily the best $70 i've ever spent. I did get the extra 2 year warranty, but my first impression with the quality of the build is that it won't be necessary, but for $5, why not. MY ONLY complaint is that the battery life isn't 12 hours, however, listening to it at medium / low volume on a full charge, I got 7 or 8 hours over bluetooth, which is better than the 5 or 6 it advertises. It will play when plugged in and charges, so it hasn't been an issue yet. And I have portable power banks if I ever need the extra juice on the go. If you're trying to decide if there really is that big of a difference between the $25-$30 boxes and this one, the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. 4 speakers on a unit of this size, with the battery life and sound / build quality it has, this is a no brainer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Logitech's X300: A lengthy review, a solid product, and an awkward price.
*by V***O on October 25, 2014*

tl;dr version: It's a great portable bluetooth speaker overall but with when balanced out with its few nuances and asking price, it's a bit of a stretch at $59.99 (at time of this review). I purchased one of these (for reference, it is copper black) during one of Amazon's deals on Logitech gear when it was only $39.99. I've had this little guy since September 18th, and I love it for what it is: a better speaker than what either my laptop (Sony VAIO Flip 15) or my phone (LG G2 LS980) have. It's a minimalistic speaker as it only has 3 buttons centered on top (back, bluetooth/play/pause, forward), two ports behind the speaker on its "lip" or molded edge (microUSB for power/charging and 3.5mm jack for aux input), and opposite of those ports is the power button (barely engraved). For some, this may be a problem as it really is hard to feel. There is a very small LED near the power button to indicate that it's charging, on, or in pairing mode; but since it's in the back you probably won't ever see it in normal use. The X300 also turns itself off after some 3-5 minutes if nothing is streaming to it (or a button pressed), even if it's charging/plugged in. Pairing is also pretty simple: it'll enter pairing the first time you turn it on and on subsequent pairings, you'll need to hold down the bluetooth button on top until the speaker plays a jingle that you hit a jackpot and the LED rapidly flashes. There is also a small hole the same size as the LED behind the bluetooth button; I can only assume this is the hole needed for the microphone. It comes in a typical Logitech box/clamshell combo with the usual literature and a microUSB cable about 18 inches (1.5 feet) long that is strictly power only. This means you can plug it into your laptop or desktop and the USB port will just supply power to the speaker and your computer won't sound off when you do. It only takes about 2-3 seconds for it to turn on (assuming you're pressing the power button and/or pressing it properly) and always resets to half of its volume range. I don't find this troublesome but it may be for those who like their electronics to remember all their settings. The volume range is 14 clicks from either volume extreme; on the 15th press, it will beep alerting that it cannot go quieter/louder. And as for the actual volume range you can hear, it reaches to something of a whisper before just muting itself and can fill a moderately noisy indoors room at maximum. Outside I doubt you'll get it to anywhere near that, but it does project the sound like a beam, so let that be a consolation. I have noticed that placing the speaker into a corner horizontally will help the sound, especially on the low end, be "fuller" (though you can do this to many speakers and get the same or similar result). I assume this is due to the passive drivers being on the sides, as the sound tends to be "thinner" if you orient it vertically. You could also use or make a three dimensional corner (box corner) to help the speaker in larger rooms with lots of space or when outdoors, but avoid cardboard as though it will reflect the sound, it will also absorb it at the same time. Used in its optimum or ideal setting, the balance is pretty damn good. You won't get any bass thumping with this, but the bass is present and not overpowering. Highs come through pretty well but I'd say the mids can get muddy in some songs. It's nothing that would make the sound horrible but it is noticeable for those who have good hearing. It only has two active speakers after all. Another thing is that the bass and treble (highs/mids) are inversely proportional when the volume is quiet or loud; treble sticks out more when the volume is quiet and the bass kicks up when the volume is loud. This only is a slight imbalance and is noticeable when changing the volume. It is also another common issue on many speakers as well. There also isn't any (or is very little) distortion when cranked to max, though I haven't had a need to push it that loud except just for the sake of testing it. As for bluetooth or wired connections: I haven't found it to be too different soundwise. Usually bluetooth will either cut the high end and/or low end to some degree, but I haven't heard this as discernibly as with my other headphones/headsets. So you should be fine using either connection. And though it can be used for phone calls (it has an integrated speaker as mentioned above), I don't use speakers, even with this ability, to make calls. I have found that roughly 3 out of 4 times I have to be talking moderate to loud for those on the other end to hear me "normally", even if it is just at an arm's length away (minimally). But if that's your cup of tea, I suppose it can make a handy conference-like speakerphone. And no, you won't be able to use it as a speakerphone if you use the wired connection. One last note and oddity on the bluetooth/wired connections: bluetooth will override the wired connection. Usually this is the other way around but not here. You will have to disconnect the bluetooth connection if you want to use the aux input. The housing feels sturdy and has a great rubberized texture that helps you grip it and lets it grip surfaces. However, I have dropped it a few times despite this and am glad to report that it didn't affect the speaker in any way. I will mention that when it dropped, it landed on the rubberized sections; I highly doubt the speaker grill would have escaped unscathed. As for details in its build quality: the grill, where it bends sharply at the corners, doesn't quite line up with the lips (but may vary from speaker to speaker) and there is a seam that isn't uniformly pressed on the bottom of the molded edge "lip" and is slightly gaped. I find that I'm able to overlook these as they're aesthetic and don't impact the major issue, which is sound quality. Lastly, I have used it while taking showers and though it is NOT water resistant, the humidity hasn't impacted it (yet) nor did dropping it into the shower when water was running (yes, this is one of the times I had dropped it). I was able to pull it out without it getting significantly wet and toweled it off. It was still playing music through the whole ordeal. I don't recommend this at all, but it does go to prove that the X300 is rather rugged. Again, it is NOT water resistant, I use it in a humid environment at times, and I'm probably just very lucky. I have yet to fully exhaust the battery as I tend to have microUSB cables with me anywhere I go (and a power source to plug into). And though it is portable, I don't want to exhaust the battery's life "unnecessarily". This is a sealed unit and more than likely might damage the housing or, less likely, might alter the sound profile if you force it open without caution. Even then, there's no telling what shape or size (electrically and physically) the battery will be until you've opened it. However, I normally use the X300 at it's default volume (halfway) and, during my longest session with it, have listened to it for some 3-4 hours almost continuously. I would give this 5/5 stars if it were closer to $39.99. At that price, it's a steal and any minor flaws one might have with it can be easily overlooked. However, the X300 seems to be closer to its MSRP of $69.99 ($59.99 at the time of this review) and, though it is still a great speaker at that price, I feel that it's price is just a bit high. There are some better and more powerful bluetooth speakers out there that are between $60 and $100 brand new and there are used bluetooth speakers that were over $100 new when they were purchased but now are being sold between $40 and $80. I probably would not have purchased the X300 if it were at $59.99 and would have saved up for one of the Sony bluetooth speakers/boomboxes. At the same time, I definitely wouldn't regret spending $59.99 on it either. It is a great speaker for what it is and I enjoy using it around the house. I have uploaded a few hastily taken photos for size reference (it's about that of a regular 12 oz. soda can). There are manufacturer's pictures above that show off the aforementioned ports. I am working towards becoming a computer guru, consider myself an audiophile of sorts, and love getting some bang for my buck.
