Love this light, last a long time , and rechargeable

This is one of those things where it’s better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it. This is great for identifying a strand, or checking connectivity over a long range, or just checking a cable. It is so bright that it might not help identify a strand that’s got minor damage, but if the squirrels ate through the sheathing and broke the fiber you are going to see where the light leaks out. It’s handy that it also has an integrated flashlight so you can see the fiber tray in a dark closet. I like that the laser retracts. Really like rechargeable Li batteries since Alkaline batteries often leak in seldom used devices. I wish the LC connector was better integrated. Overall I am happy to have another one of these and I like this design better than some of the lower priced options.

solid little laser flashlight that is very bright.Unfortunately either from missing something in the package or user error I can't get the light to focus like a laser pointer. Also haven't been able to use with fiberoptic cable due to light leakage. Have a feeling whatever adapter needed to do this was missing from package.Very nicely packaged If you are looking for a very diffused laser, this is the one for you.If like me, you are looking for more of a laser pointer for presentations, entertaining my dog, and occassional fiber testing, I would say pass.

We use fiber optic comms for much of our machine data at work, and it's annoying to call in the tool from the depot every time a cable needs basic checks. This works a treat, and it's nice and compact. It will also surely come in handy for the upcoming DPSS fiber laser work I'm expecting. Again, nice little bit of kit.

This tool is amazing out of the box. It was fully charged up, so we tried it out. The best part about this is that you don't have to constantly change out batteries like its other counterparts that constantly use 2 AA batteries. This uses a battery that will last longer for jobs that take a while to diagnose any fiber optic problems. Other than that, it's made very well. It's pretty solid. I like the fact that when you rotate the bezel, the terminal to connect pops out and the red-light shines brightly. Another good part is that there's a flashlight function as well whenever you need to use some light when turning off the room to find the break. I wish it came with a case but that's not a negative. I also wish there was a clip as well but that's fine also. Overall, this is the handiest tool in my collection now considering I would like to buy another one just because I hate buying batteries. This is well worth it, and it saves you on time and money for the long run.

I don't know why there aren't more rechargeable VFLs on the market.This one is even updated with USB C, so a charger is always available somewhere handy as the car always has one. No more searching for batteries in the car or my tool bag or having to buy or replace them period.You turn the dial and the port pops up and is activated. It is as bright as any VFL I own and I have at least a half dozen now ranging from cheap ones to Corning's overpriced offering that was originally part of unicam kits. Anyone in need of one I highly suggest this!

Cool design but the laser is on the weaker side.
