Pillsbury Kids Birthday Bundle: Funfetti Cake Mix and Galaxy Space Blue Vanilla Frosting with By The Cup Candles

My mom's birthday went off quite well, even considering my kids REALLY wanted to make her cake themselves. This bundle had everything they needed and (even though everyone's mouth was blue after eating) the cake was moist and delicious!

This was a very simple set. A cake mix, frosting, and candles. I picked the confetti cake with unicorn frosting option. The only thing missing was a topper or simple decoration or cupcake liners. Something little to take the whole thing up a notch.It does need eggs, oil, and water to make the cake. This process was easy enough, with the instructions on the box. The frosting with sprinkles was the fun part that said celebrate more than anything else. All in the realm of my very basic baking skills. Even so, I had fun, as well as my daughter with what I chose.The taste was very sweet, vanilla forward. Close to what I remember from the last time I had a Pillsbury cake.

Funfetti cake is well known and loved. The cake mix was exactly as expected and did not disappoint. Easy to make, predictable baking, and tasty to eat.I did not like this icing at all, though. The vanilla flavor tastes chemically and is sickeningly sweet. No one in the family was a fan of the icing, so I'm glad we tried it before putting it on the cake. I find this to be a shared problem across brands of shelf stable icing, so if that's what you like, you're probably fine with this. The color of the icing is nice and the shapes of the sprinkles was cool, but they're pretty dull. I wish the sprinkles were more vibrantly colored.The value here isn't great. This is well above store price and the candles that come in the bundle look cheap and are low quality. I'm not sure why the price is so high on this, but I'd urge you to shop around.

Super cool it's sold as a set since it means you don't have to worry about finding each component on its own.Makes this a fun little project too since you can do it all in one shot.

I love a good Funfetti cake, and my grandson is into everything outer space, so this bundle was perfect for my needs: cake mix, blue vanilla frosting, space-themed sprinkles, and even birthday candles. The cake came together well and the texture was good. The cake and frosting combo do make for a very sweet product, which the grandkid loved but me, less so. Also, the way the kit was packaged caused the box of cake mix to get smooshed--the seller is advised to use a little more care in packaging to prevent damage to the product. Overall a fun kit and a good product that will put a smile on any kid's face.

This has everything you need for a party. The candles are nice to have, and the frosting was vanilla flavored. It makes for a colorful cupcake or cake. Super convenient set that has everything set up for you. I enjoyed the smooth texture of the cupcake. It wasn’t too sweet either which is perfect for me.

This is a box of Pillsbury Funfetti cake mix (retail around $2.) The matching Funfetti icing, also retails for around $2. There are candles included in this set, retail about $2 or much less. Not sure why this set is worth nearly $14.00. Pillsbury is a well-known brand and I have made this cake in the past. This set was wrapped together, with the container of frosting crushing the cake mix box. Not an issue since the cardboard box goes to recycle. But, if I'm paying nearly $14.00 (double the retail) maybe it should be packaged much better.

My daughter, who is 9, loves baking cupcakes. Her favorite part, is putting on the frosting at the end. We liked the flavor of the frosting, but didn't like the blue color of it. As it turned the mouth blue. But the cupcakes turn out great. The cupcakes looked nice and round on the top making it easy to frost.
