As comfortable as everyone here seems to saying, but...
These fit me right out of the box, and my first trek left my feet feeling comfy, with not a single blister after a long rugged hike. And they are totally waterproof as well. I also love the simple design that excludes all the usual hiking boot nonsense. But these boots do have one flaw. They are much too difficult to get on and off, making it a struggle of pulling laces and jamming fingers to loosen them enough. The maker could have solved this issue by simply adding a second, lower pair of lace hooks instead of grommets for securing the laces. Dear Mishmi, add more set of lace hooks and you’ll have a future classic.

Great shoes!!
These shoes are much better than I expected. I deliver newspapers and the ground is always wet with dew. My feet stayed dry the whole night. The only issue that I have with the shoes is that you may need to get a larger size than normal because as I say my feet were dry but the cold came through. Not a game changer but I definitely won't wear them in the snow, as a matter of fact, I may even purchase the pair that cost $150.00. I'll review more after I wear them in the rain. The coldness coming through is why I gave it 4 stars.

Why You Definitely Should Buy These
I was looking at the Salomon GTX boots to replace my beloved pair of Meindls that had survived 14 years of abuse (and motorcycle riding) but started searching further afield because I figured if I'm going to spend $250+ on boots I might as well get another pair of Meindls. That's how I stumbled upon these on Amazon, I was looking for a company that was trying to prove themselves as you'll inevitably get better value from them than anyone trying to remain that the top.FYI: I ended up returning the pair I bought through Amazon because Mishmi Takin were having a sale and it was cheaper there.Right out of the box these were the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever tested. There is zero break-in period, it means they aren't necessarily going to mold to your foot, but we'll see, I'm only 2 months and about 500 miles in them. They're incredibly light, the soles are impressive -- I ended up wearing them on neck-deep river crossings in Thailand and they never once made me lack grip confidence on wet rock (and they dried out in about 16 hours!), I didn't come close to getting a blister even when worn literally full of water. The real reason you should buy these boots besides the performance is that even though I got a defective pair -- the threads and fabric on the upper heel were unravelling before I even got through the airports -- when I told their customer support about this not only did their founder immediately respond to hear my issues, he shipped me an entirely new pair and asked me to keep wearing the old pair and let them know how they continue to break down.I've never had a company take such interest and pride in their product that they then include the user in helping them build better boots, I'm still amazed and humbled by this. Not only did they address any normal consumer concerns I had but they authentically included me in how they improve their product. When you buy Mishmi Takin you play a role in their process towards perfection.I can't see myself switching brands as long as they keep making boots.

Pretty good, a bit stiff.
Pretty good. Lacing and unlacing a bit more difficult than with other boots. The tongue and upper material around the ankles is stiff. Ended up returning because of that. Part of the upper material seems to be suede which is an odd choice for an outdoor boot, especially a waterproof one, as it's a magnet for dirt. Otherwise seems like a good boot.

Amazing
That's me standing in water. I know it doesn't look very deep but I did go in all the way to the ankle. I also took every opportunity to walk trough every creek and river I found. Completely dry. The first hike I did in those shoes was 5 miles, the second 10. No issues at all and that's with zero break in time. Also, hiked through snow and volcanic ash. Dry and the ash stayed out without gaiters. Very comfortable. I always get ridiculously hot in running shoes, I hate wearing them. I wore these for hours on a warm day and felt just fine. I was also warm in them when the temperatures dropped. Awesome shoes! The only slight issue I have - they are hard to put on and take off. The laces fit in the holes quite tightly so it's hard to loosen them (but it also keeps them exactly how you tied them for your entire hike). Since, I don't anticipate needing to take them off and on frequently, it's not really a problem. I normally wear an 8 or an 8.5 and the 8 fit great. I got the 9 in green because some reviews said they run small but the 8 was perfect for me. I love the design as well. Talking my husband into buying the green ones because these boots are incredible and the green design is just as cool.

They're good, comfortable, durable and have very good grip.
I was skeptical about these boots at first, but after a few weeks using them and finally breaking them in, I have to say they're good and mostly comfortable. I hope they hold up well for months to come and only get more comfortable as time passes by. The Vibram sole is great on the roofs!UPDATE: Well over two year and I'm still beating on these boots now on electrical work so mainly ladders in and out of homes, concrete floors, dirt and gravel, and of course the the rain and snowy weather of New England. They're still going strong.UPDATE: Eight months later and they have held up better than any other hiking boots I've purchased before them (mainly Merrels and Timberland). Asphalt shingles are very aggressive and abusive on any shoes/boots, imagine sanding down rubber with coarse grit sand paper, and these boots took all of it. From dirt, gravel, light snow, heavy and light rain, super hot sunny days, and any type of roof shingles on different tilts/slopes these boots are still in one piece and greatly holding up with the abuse.Yes, of course some of the stitching have come out and the soles are worn out in some areas, but my previous boots would last me about five to six months tops! I wish they would come down in price a little, but would definitely recommend and buy again.
