Last Resort Option
I have trouble understanding why some reviewers are so wild about this product, except that they have cars that simply couldn't use any other type of mount. It is true that this mount places a premium on versatility but, as in most such cases, versatility comes at the price of functionality. The mount is, essentially, a vinyl coated strap about 8 inches long that accepts slide and lock pieces to hold the device and cables (separate included optional piece) and a choice of using either an air vent clip or a foam rubber piece that can be wedged into a cup holder or any suitable crack you may have (e.g. between a seat and center console) in your car. The versatility comes in the ability of the the pieces to be put on the strap in any order and to move them up or down as you please. The downside is that the strap is, itself, not very stable, so to be effective you have to place the strap against something on the dash or another part of the car to stabilize the unit enough for you to be able to use it, otherwise it will shake, wiggle and move anytime you attempt to push a button. I suppose a "free-standing" unit would be okay if you only used voice commands, but then laying the phone on the seat next to you would also. If you can brace the strap against something, the mount works reasonable well, but you can't really adjust the viewing angle (unless you are very lucky and bracing it against something that just happens to be at the desired angle) and even if everything else works as well as possible, you then have the 8 inch stick to look at in your car, most of which is sticking out beyond the device being held. I give the mount a 4 on versatility and a 2 on functionality, making an average of 3. If you have a car that just can't use a dash, window, vent, or CD mount (or just hate them for whatever reason) then this may well be the mount for you.

Clever Product - But Overpriced
Was looking for the best cel phone holder for my car and after much research I decided on buying the U-Tree CarMount . Pros: It can be set up in diferent places and there are many options to adjust size and position of all the parts.I appreciate the creative design and the general idea of being able to locate it in different places.Cons: Not sturdy enough for my taste. Will not stay firm or grasp the phone firmly and adequately. If you have a cel phone cover it might not "Snap" to get a tight grip. Instead It will gently hold the device and as long as the car doesnt jump much it will probably stay there. I think this product could be sold por 12$ to 15$ instead of 29$. I dont know, maybe production costs are higher...It's not what I expected, but its not so bad- That's why I gave it 3 Stars.

Just okay
It's alright but I didn't feel it was as secure as my bean bag mount that I use on the dashboard. I've gone back to using my old one.

Fantastic concept. A little off for iphone 5
This is the best product concept I've seen out there. Its thin, light and easily maneuverable. If it was tweaked just a little I'd buy it for $50. For the iphone, one alteration would make it near perfect. If you take a look at the brackets on the top, they fall right inline with the power button on the iphone. Not huge but I hit it when I set it and it turned off. Would just need a lighter touch when setting the phone. This could be easily fixed by the developers -- the top brackets already rotate to the side and move up and down, so if there was a way to slide them in and out to fit the width of the phone then it would be perfect as it would hold the phone in place from the sides avoiding both the power button and the volume controls. Also, the cool cord holder won't really work as well with the new iphone. Still, I would recommend this product if those things don't bother you.

I thought I found the perfect one-handed air-vent holder, until I had it in my hands.
If you have any sense of engineering, you'll dislike this. Sorry to be negative, but the idea is good, just the implementation is a fail.1)This device is supposed to hold your phone with the spring in the "backbone" but the backbone is not a spring, it's pliable metal that does not spring back to shape. So it will never hold your phone solidly. Adjust it as best and tightly as you can, and with a very slight twist of your wrist(or a 10mph turn, or speed bump) and your phone will loosen or fully pop out.2) The plastic is cheap, and rubber cushions for the phone frame is weaker than your grocery store rubber bands, and broke on me while adjusting my phone into place, and I am not a strong or big guy.(5'10" 155lbs)3) Don't even attempt to put your charging plug in for easy one-handed mounting. Guaranteed to pop out and break your device's usb port. Plus it does not fit all sizes of usb plug/lightningcable/30pin. An adapter/dense foam gripper for the plug would be best.On the plus side, the foam mount is a good idea, but needs denser foam for rigidity. The airvent method is the best because phones often get hot with GPS running. If a version 2.0 with fully re-engineerd design comes out from U-Tree, I would try it out, in hopes of finding the perfect phone mount..
