The REdSETTER is an excellent quality unit, manufactured in Germany that allows users to reset the chips on their CLI-8 and PGI-5 cartridges so that ink levels indicate full. This makes it ideal for customers wishing to refill and re-use their cartridges with a suitable bulk ink. Compatible with: - PGI-5BK (pigment black) - CLI-8C / M / Y / BK / G / R / PM / PC This unit is not compatible with chip versions or cartridge types To use the REdSETTER you simply - Plug the unit cable into the REdSETTER and any available USB socket (for power) Tip: Front USB port on printer will work too. - Slot it into the guiding grooves so that the pins make contact with your cartridge chip - Wait for a single short red LED blip followed by a longer LED burst - That's it... The REdSETTER also includes a removeable guide which correctly aligns and guides thinner CLI-8 cartridges into the correct reset position. These units can be powered from any available USB socket, including the Pictbridge port found on the front of most Canon Pixma printers, so you don't need to keep your computer on to use it.
