NXS-9700-3G Hardware SMS Gateway

Absolutely perfect product. Support is excellent, very responsive and reasonable. This is the only SMS hardware gateway I've found that is reasonably priced (less than $1k USD) and can reliably support monitoring with true out-of-band SMS texts. Buy a SIM from alarmsim or other cheap IOT provider and you've got a great OOB solution for monitoring.

Its a nice product

The best way to get SMS out of a small call center without dealing the online providers. The API makes sending and receiving messages as easy as pie. The only downside is you have to use a GSM carrier in the US. So no Verizon or Sprint.

We purchased one of these almost 2 years ago for my work, and it might be the smartest purchase we've ever made.$800-1000 might not seem "cheap" but boy does this unit earn its keep. This unit is an incredibly versatile bundled solution. Ping checks? Yep! Port based TCP checks? Yep! API to SMS? You bet. Email? Yep. It even has the capacity to do periodic self-health checks to ensure full functionality. This could be a monitoring 'one stop shop' for a small place, or a nice edge node in the case of a more small-medium scale enterprise business. Support is great as others have mentioned.If you're considering purchasing one of these, do it, you won't be disappointed.
