Accurate, Super Simple to Use and a Great Value
The Good: Seems to measure mph accurately. I confirmed the mph measurement against a car speedometer. Simple and super straightforward to use, just turn it on, place it in the air stream and read the measurement. Small, light and easy to hold. The screen is large enough to ready easily and is backlit which is a big help to see the screen. There is an Auto off to save the battery which I appreciate very much. It also measures temperature. It has a softer plastic cover that's easy to slip on and off to protect it from falls. Great price at $15. Could Be Better: They make no mention of the plastic cover having to be removed to install the battery. At first, I thought it was the chassis but soon found it very pliable and easy to slip off to get access to the battery cover. A nice feature would have been a threaded camera mount socket. As it is you have to hold it by hand or clamp it somehow.

Easy to use. Works great.
I use it in repairing air conditioning units to check air flow and temperatures.

Cheap, seems to be accurate, bad user interface
The UI is kind of aweful. Whenever I don't use this for a while, I forget how to turn it on. And I frequently find myself wanting to quickly change between Max and Current, but I can't. Rather than a simple button press to change modes, changing modes takes Power On: Press and hold Mode Power Off: Press Mode+Set Change Speed Units: Turn on, hold Mode until flashing, press set several times to select unit (ex MPH), press Mode to save Change from Current, Average, Maximum display: Turn on, hold Mode until Flashing, press set several times until it moves PAST the units to CU (current), MAX (maximum), and AVG (average). Press Mode to Save It's just so weird. The way it's set up right now, the "Mode" button would be better labeled "Start/Settings". And "Set" would be better labeled "Select" But really, why don't the buttons do anything when simply pressed. I think it would be better if the buttons were labeled "Mode/Power" and "Unit". Turn it on, then press Mode to change from Current, Average, Max. Press Unit to change units. No need to enter "config mode". Just remember whatever it's on when it turns off. And long-press to turn on isn't terrible. That probably makes it less likely to turn on in a pocket. But maybe long-press EITHER button turns it on and long press EITHER button turns it off? Would be 5 stars if usage was more intuitive. Backlight is nice. It seems to be accurate (but I haven't done a really well controlled test for that). I really appreciate that it doesn't require a screw driver to change the battery. But using it can be inconvenient at times.

Died?
It comes with a button cell. I used it a half dozen times over three to five days and suddenly it wouldn't turn on. I actually had to replace the battery to get it to start working fine again like nothing happened. Seems to work fine otherwise.

For the price, good buy..
Pretty much what I expected. Provides easy readout of wind speed. Note: do not expect wind direction. You have to figure that out for yourself. I use it for practice rounds on the golf course. If the flag is blowing straight with no bend in the flag stick, I can expect a 10-13 mph wind. One last note based on previous reviews: you have to remove the yellow cover case to get to the battery compartment.

Not Even Remotely Accurate
We are having a wind event tonight. Our big old maples are howling and the largest branches are moving. According to the Beaufort Scale and my personal experience, this means 25 - 30 mph wind, at least. This anemometer is reading about 4.5 mph in the biggest gust. Very disappointing.

Great little gadget.
Love the size and accuracy. Was curious about how hard the wind was blowing in the backyard. Now I know.
