Product is easy to use, and very efficient. Seals jars in seconds and the seals are tight every time. I had no issue using the lids provided and also worked well with other lids I had around the house on various brands of jars.After wasting my money on the generic brands and having nothing but headaches and poor customer service, I was thrilled to see Nesco had their own mason jar sealer. If you're from the midwest, you know Nesco is best!had to buy a couple more for gifts to some other gardening enthusiasts, this is a must have for anyone that needs to store dry and shelf stable foods for longer periods of time! I found it works great with cereals, dried fruits/veggies, crackers, candy, and even leftover tallow from cooking! Can't wait to see what else I can use this for. (as a bonus, its a ton of fun to use!)

I was very happy to find this sealer! I unpacked it and tried it out immediately after it arrived.What a DISAPPOINTMENT! It seems to create a vacuum seal just fine, but you can't get the machine off the jar without pulling off the lid!! What's the point of that?? You don't just seal one jar and put the whole mess into the cupboard until you need whatever you just sealed up again.So, back to Amazon it went. I'm just glad I ordered it here so I didn't have to argue with Nesco directly. Too bad, this would have been a great help to us. Nice idea, very poorly executed.

Does not adequately seal jar--I am able to easily remove lid with fingers (-1 star). Sealer automatically shuts off after 20 secs--probably why jar is not adequately sealed (-1 star). Gasket tends to come off when removing unit from jar and is difficult to put back in place (-1 star). Review based on trying unit with different jars and different lids. Item retuned to Amazon.

The vacuum sealer works great, but took a lot of attempts before able to get it to hold a seal. Was able to determine the lids provided are terrible and can't hold a seal. Replaced lids with some Ball brand and worked great.

I have lots of "Mason" and "Kerr" canning jars and I know how to seal home canning; but I couldn't get this to work. I have a NESCO food saver that I love. Sadly for me, this wasn't a good idea.
