Was fine but broke in less than 60 days + even worse news about the replacement
2/12/19 Update: The distributor replaced the bracket. Yay! Oh wait, less than two weeks later the second one snapped right off the house. I don't know what kind of material is supposed to be under this white paint, but it looks like the metal equivalent of particle board and is apparently just about as strong. To compound the issue, if you notice the screw holds on the bracket in the second picture you'll see they are unevenly placed so YAY, I have to find a new bracket and drill more holes in my stone. I know one review said this is a quality product so he doubts it's from China, but I beg to differ. This bracket is terrible.Original review: It was working fine for... 58 days. Looked out the window and my flag was gone. Found it in the bushes. This "heavy duty" holder had snapped right off leaving just the base attached to the house. I don't know yet if I have any recourse since I bought it in late October.

Truly, truly disappointed
If I could I would give a negative rating just because of the indifference of the supplier. After having it in place for several months the bracket screwed into the wall of the garage broke in half and we found our flag, the flag pole, and part of the mounting bracket on the ground. My husband removed the other half of the bracket and we took a photo of the two pieces and attached them to an email to the supplier requesting a replacement or refund. THEY NEVER RESPONDED! I will admit, the American flag we were flying at the time is made of heavier than usual fabric, it had rained and was windy overnight. However, even with those factors, the bracket should not have broken in two!

Poor manufacturing/Quality control
The pole holder is supposed to be designed for a 1" pole. However, there is much more room than needed; the pole has a lot of play and wobbles around. This wouldn't have been a problem if the screw tightener worked properly. After two days, I noticed the flag and pole on the ground. When I went to place it back in the holder, I noticed the screw was stripped and would not tighten. I then took the holder portion of the assembly to the hardware store and matched up a bolt with threads that fit, along with a large nut that I fastened to the end with two-part epoxy. This set up worked for a few days and then the same problem occurred. This holder was the heavy duty one recommended by Amazon. I guess I could have re-threaded to a larger size, etc, etc, but it seems to me that time and expense shouldn't be necessary.

The Braket with Versitility
We had a problem placing our outside flag pole. There are gutters all around the exterior of the building. Placing the flag pole at an upper point was our goal. We first ordered a single angle bracket which did not work at all. We are impressed with this Multi-Position bracket because it was easy to install and the angle problem was solved with no installation issues. The fact that it can be securely positioned at almost any angle is a terrific advantage. The construction of this bracket is sturdy and well coated on the exterior for use for many years to come. Thank you for creating and marketing a terrific product1

Pretty good value
This flag holder is strong in high winds. I installed it on the house using long screws which in a high wind event literally pulled the screws out of the wood and bent two of them at an angle. I reinstalled it with lag bolts which have held it it in place. The only significant problem is that the jamb bolt threads for the pole cup and the bolt itself rounded off so that it would no long tighten down to hold a flag pole in place for high winds. The assembly itself stays in place in high winds and only needs retightened occasionally. After 2 years I've ordered a replacement and I will install the new movable assembly on the existing base to resolve the stripped out threads for the bolt holding the flagpole in the cup.

DO NOT BUY THIS BRACKET
The pole cannot hold any position and falls down immediately. You can see in my photo that there are no teeth on the pole piece to engage with the mount. There is one little "bump", not even large enough to call a "tooth" or to engage and hold a light polyester flag let alone a sturdy US cotton flag. USELESS.

Poor quality
I have never written an angry review before. My last multi-position flag pole bracket holder lasted 25 years. I doubt this flag pole holder will last through a breezy afternoon. Bracket is sloppy and will pop out of place if flag is not mounted in one of the highest positions. Simply stated, advertising this holder as "heavy duty" is dishonest and misleading at best. Call it what it is - "light duty for indoor use only".

not a good holder
the screws that came with the flag pole holder are super low grade, as are the anchors. You'll need to buy other better quality screws to use on composite door frames. The second thing, the knob screw that is used to tighten the flag pole once its inside the holder, doesn't extend far enough. I had to install a thick piece of plastic to use as a wedge in order for the screw to tighten enough to keep the flag sturdy in the holder. I am afraid the next wind storm might knock the pole out of the holder.
