TL;DR - Decent Bible for those who don't highlight but underline; Best looking Bible of 2021.Superficial stuff first: LOVE the look of this Bible. That gold looks more copper in person. And copper on navy blue with that debossing and design? *Chef's Kiss* One of the most beautiful looks I've seen in a Bible in a long, long, time. It looks like it could be from 60-80 years ago! In a good way! The text size is big enough to be very readable but, the Bible not too hefty from the font increase. Which DOES mean the pages are thinner than you'd probably like. This is not the Bible to use your yellow highlighter in. Pen at most...and even then...it may bleed through.But, this is not my Sunday morning, small/life/community group, deep dive, workhorse Bible. This is my commuting, vacation, daily reading bible. The one that goes in my backpack for the train. Or to the hotel when we're on a weekend away.I've been an ESV fan since about 2004 and steadfastly adhered to only buying ESV during that time. Any other translation was second class at best. I tried CSB first in an app to have other translations, then got the CSB Ancient Faith Study Bible for the study notes. Now...I am a CSB fan. It's better than the NIV, more accurate than the NLT, and more readable then *gulp* the ESV. Yup, it just plain old reads better. I'm engaging more with God's Word on a deeper, better frankly, level than I ever was with the ESV. Plus for those who aren't Bible savvy the text reads cleanly. It's not overly prosy (with the exception of the poetry books obviously) which makes the message clearer to the modern English speaker without sacrificing the inspired words of God. I would encourage more people to pick up a CSB translation and give it a whirl. You might be pleasantly surprised!
