This has a glass jar with measurements on the side so you can easily see when your starter has grown. Because it is clear you can see the bubbles forming which has been a great visual aid when teaching my kids about the science behind fermentation. The spatula fits perfectly and makes getting the starter out of the jar easy. There are some unnecessary gimmicky stuff, but whatever, just ignore that. Overall, it makes growing my starter easier and storing it so much better than the glass storage container I've been using.

Perfect sourdough kit

I started baking sourdough bread a few months ago and then ended up killing my starter; that was mostly because it was very tedious to maintain the right measurement and temperature every time in a simple glass jar.This is a great kit for beginners who want to develop a new hobby and easily maintain your own starter without killing it.It’s been a week since I got it and I am loving it! Definitely recommend.

I am new to sourdough and wanted to try making my own starter. This kit is great and comes with everything you need. My starter is going well on day 2. The band for measuring growth and tracking feedings is very convenient. The band did have a typo with Wed (for Wednesday) spelled "Web". No big deal to me, as it has no bearing on effectiveness for my starter. Markings on the jar are helpful, too. I really like the firm spatula for stirring and cleaning the sides of the jar. Overall, this kit is exactly what I needed. Would recommend!
