Easy?
Not exactly as it says in the title. I bought this expecting a collection of interesting & tasty recipes that would be 'easy' to cook... I think the least amount of ingredients required for one recipe is 20 individual items, & most would be special items not larder stores. If you want an 'easy' cook book try any of the Jill Dupleix books or James Martin. I'll be looking for an 'easy' way to move Tom's book on to a new home!

Seriously good food. All excellent so far!
We have 2 shelves of cookbooks from all around the world. I cook every single day for the family. We are so impressed by this book from Tom Aikens, and have found it amazing that every recipe we've cooked so far has been so incredibly nice! It's not always like that with cookbooks.I find it really strange that someone has gave it a 1 star review, that is crazy! I only assume they have picked a bad recipe, and maybe did it wrong. Seriously. I've never left a cookbook a review, but I felt so inclined to do so here.Buy this book, it'll be your best friend in the kitchen for a long time!Try the lamb and sweet onion pita recipe, so tasty. ;)

Really nice book, slightly pricey recipes.
Well laid out and easy to use. However the meals are quite pricey with, in most cases, lots of ingredients. I am going to attempt to cut down on ingredients and make my own variations- I'm a student- but I'm sure most who buy this wouldn't find this an issue. It seems that all the recipes are on one page (which is so much easier to use than when you have to turn a page!). Personally I feel most of the recipes are for 'fancy' meals however there are many which are less so and that wouldn't take too long to prepare. The book is divided into 'Healthy starts', 'light bites', 'fast fixes', 'something for the weekend', 'leftovers', 'something on the side' and 'something sweet'. I love the cover, photographs and ideas within it. A nice cookery book :)

Exactly what the title says- Easy, and very beautiful
I try to make a stop at Tom's Kitchen every time I am in London because I like the laid-back atmosphere and the food. I was hoping this book would be like Tom's Kitchen-style of food, and it is.I like Easy, Tom Aikens' most recent cookbook, for several reasons.(1) The recipes are easy to make. Even those with a longer ingredients list which may look daunting are executed in very few steps.(2) The variety of recipes starts with breakfast and goes through desserts.(3) The food is flavorful. The style is mostly British with a continental European influence, and a few bits of Asia here and there.(4) There is a balance of heavier and lighter recipes, vegetarian and non- including fish dishes, so you can cook an entire healthy meal from this one book.(5) The images are beautiful and there are many of them. This is the perfect book for someone who doesn't have many cookbooks, but would like to have a solid general cookbook that covers all courses evenly. This is also the perfect book for someone who likes beautiful cookbooks, even if they never cook from them. And it is definitely a book for someone looking for great British sandwichesThere are a few recipes which left me scratching my head, such as the recipe for "Thai-style Rice" which is just "jasmine rice, salt, flavourings" and the instructions direct you to add any flavourings you like... Or the "Blueberry and Buttermilk American Pancakes" which are like what is served at Tom's Kitchen, but in the US, our pancakes are usually made on top of the stove, and served in a stack, not baked in the oven, and served as one giant pan-cake... But the flavor is the same. So these are not drawbacks, just curiosities.I've never seen Tom's other cookbooks because I always thought they'd be too difficult, but Easy has made me want to try his other books as well.Another reason I bought this book immediately upon release is because Tom is a very likeable personality. If he's not in the kitchen at one of his properties, he is out running long-distance races for charities and causes he believes in (nutritional deficiency related disease, hunger, sustainable fishing, to name a few). He is accessible on Twitter, and if you have a question about a recipe, or have a problem at one of his restaurants if he's not already there in person, he answers immediately.
