this sonodyne antra is one of the best bluetooth sound system. It is different from all the commercial speakers available in the market. no hanky-panky pure sound. Apart from the golden sound, what very few people pay attention to is its build quality, this is a speaker that goes with you all your life. Battery backup is very good, on full charge full sound it lasts for about 8 to 8.5 hours. The most important thing is that it is made in India which makes it different from other speakers available in the market. This is for those people who can understand both music and sound, you can buy it without hesitation, it is a life long companion.

This is a review post using Antara since 1 week. Clean and clear sound with weak bass used without sub woofer . This is certainly not for bass heads if used stand alone. The positive is if a powered sub woofer is added from pre-out, as the unit comprises a class D amp inside, bass signature increases. I'm using an old PC 2.1 speaker as a sub. There is another observation, blue tooth mode works better than Aux in or line in mode, as I found certain instrument sound missing (like flute etc. ) while connecting line in from a PC. Same instruments are audible if Bluetooth is used. A peculiar observation, however true and I found no reasons for this. Price is definitely on the higher side.

Lows dip down to 60 hz. However, the roll off is so steep at that point, it's practically inaudible. It seems to begin at the 150 hz range. Switching between genres is always a good idea to gauge how the unit performs overall. It performs fine between 1-20 khz. Anything below that, is a huge mess. The crossover implementation seems lackluster. I am guessing, by the way it sounds, it is set somewhere around 200 - 300 hz. That makes the sound lose it's body and make it seem hollowed out. There are some nasty overtones in that region too. And with the missing low end, it becomes even more apparent. And those passive radiators have too little excursion. If you want a conference speaker, this will do just fine. For content with more dynamic range and frequency extension like music and movies, this is not your device.

Extremely pleased with our new Sonodyne Antara!After multiple disappointing experiences with fairly pricey Chinese speakers, over the past 3-4 years, this time my Dad and I decided to research well before buying. Our requirement was stereo sound, as most portable speakers offer only a mono sound - which we dislike. Furthermore many brands like JBL & Sony felt too bass-heavy (tuned for EDM music I feel).Then we came across Sonodyne’s Antara.My Dad’s had fond memories with the brand, plus our desire to try an Indian brand made us take the plunge for the Antara. And boy! Was that a good decision!The highs are clear, and elements like hi-hats, female vocals don’t feel shrill at all. The bass is punchy and works well in both Rock, Blues as well as Bollywood music. Classical music sounds divine on them.Might not be the best for EDM/Techno music, but still does the job well for playing music loud enough in our dining area with a room full of people.10/10 would recommend. Value for money, solid build and excellent sound!

Reasonably priced compared to other brands. The sound is crisp and clear, especially good at higher volume. Adequate for normal rooms, 40 W. Looks decent. Control buttons are not very user-friendly. Multiple connectivity options are a big advantage. Definitely a homegrown good alternative to top international brands at this pricerange.
