I've been using this product for years. Recent trip to eye doctor stated that my eyes are in perfect health. I'm 65 and have no signs of cataracts, glocoma, or macular degeneration. That's great considering all these things run in my family. My sister who is 12 yrs younger can not say the same, unfortunately.

I have been using astaxanthin for a while now to help with eyes. I had a period of time where I found myself with floaters. I was told to try that and I did. I try to keep up with it.HOW THESE COMEThese come in a white plastic bottle with a flip top cap. You can screw it on and flip the top too.PILL SIZEThese pills are very small. They are easy to swallow.PROBLEMS?I have had no issues with burping, digestion upsets, or headaches taking these.DO THEY HELP?I take these for floaters, and I also noticed that they help reduce pain when I take them too- an unexpected bonus. When taking these, I am not seeing any issues with floaters and I definitely have better days when it comes to pain.THE BOTTOM LINEThese easy to swallow pills help with floaters and also pain.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. I would buy these again. They serve me well and seem to be very good quality. They are right up there with my favorite brands I have used in the past.

This bottle of Astaxanthin in Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Oil from Vital Choice contains 90 soft-gels with each soft-gel containing 4mg of Astaxanthin, 260mg Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Oil, and 50mg of Omega 3 Fatty Acids (20mg EPA, 20mg DHA). The suggested serving is 1 soft-gel daily.Astaxanthin is an antioxidant carotenoid, it is often found in marine organisms such as algae, fish, shrimp, lobster, etc. So, it's the substance that gives some marine organisms a red color. I’ve used Astaxanthin off and on for a while, and while I feel it’s a decent Anti-oxidant. The Astaxanthin in this supplement from Vital Choice is extracted from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae.The Soft-gels are small, and easy to swallow. No stomach or anything occurred. The price is a bit much for only 4mg of Astaxanthin and 50mg of Omega 3 Fatty Acids (20mg EPA, 20mg DHA), however this supplement is up front about what it contains and the price, so I can’t fault it too much, however you can take Astaxanthin and Omega 3 Fish Oil separately and get a larger dose of both. 20mg of EPA and DHA isn’t much.

I'd love to give this astaxanthin in wild salmon oil 5 stars but I don't feel it truly merits that. One gelcap only has 4mg of astaxanthin and I've reviewed astaxanthin supplements that had as many as 14 mg per dose. Also, as far as the total omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA amounts, I find them to be much lower than many other fish oil supplements that I've reviewed. I wouldn't want to pay $36.00 for this supplement unless it had a lot more of everything in it.

Reading other reviews, there were various comments on the low doses of the ingredients. I have a hard time with any fish oils, they usually don't settle on my stomach too well. I've had similar issues with other Astaxanthin supplements. But these don't cause me any issues. Not sure if it is because it is a lower dose than others or not. But because I can take this with no issues, I will continue taking them. I also think the price is good for a 90 day supply.
