Brighter than I expected. Tips on making them work correctly. Glows for at least a year on a battery. Wears well.
I am pleasantly surprised how well this works. I just took the fob and laid it down on the road (only dark place, heh). I took thirty regular steps before I started losing the glow enough for it to catch my attention if I had dropped it somewhere. That is FAR beyond my Tritium glo ring that I was using before. I need to buy more of these! I just had to take it apart, so here are tips and tricks about how it works and how to fix it. It comes with a SONY 2032 battery so that is good! Pulling the tab out might pop the back open (the back is the part with the writing on it.) To open the back intentionally, take a small flat blade screwdriver and insert it into one of the grooves and twist towards the back. The battery goes in with the plus side out. When opened up, there is two small metal tabs, a rubber washer type thing with a spring inside. The four little screws do nothing more than hold the button and the plastic around it in place (so don't bother taking them out). The top wire tab that is towards the white top is the ground tab. If that is bent in enough, nothing will light up. The tab next to the rubber gasket is for the glow part and that might need to be bent UP to touch the battery if yours does not glow. The spring is the part that causes the fob to act like a flashlight when the button is pushed in. I managed to get my light to stay on the flashlight mode when I put the back on. Loosening the overtightened screws helped a bit and pushing DOWN on the spring with my screwdriver (compressing it a bit) also helped. Cool gadget and from what I read, the battery lasts a long time, but I bought 10 extra SONY 2032 here for a few bucks. If you are looking for a real keyring flashlight, I highly recommend the Energizer High Tech LED keychain here on Amazon.EDIT: Gone through my first set of batteries. Lasted for a good 9 months and then they slowly fade out. Threw in a new battery for the three of them and they are as bright as ever.EDIT Two years later and all three of my lights are working well. I use one on my keychain and one for each of the car keys. Just one battery change in the two years. I rarely use the high glow function as I have better flashlights on my key ring and in my cars. These wear extremely well. My key ring one has most of the writing worn off and part of the silver paint worn off but the button is still in perfect working order and the plastic over the glow end is fine.

It’s okay
Had some trouble accessing the battery compartment. I think this will be hard for older people to put together. Seems made of cheap products. We’ll see how long it lasts.

The glowing part is OK, the flashlight part is poor
The entire cap lights up and blinds you, when your eyes are adjusted to the darkness, while lighting up your path only so much.Covering half of the cap with aluminum foil helps a bit.

A 'Good' one will last more than a year.
First dongle still going after a year. The second... dead on arrival checked battery and connection. However Amazon is sending a replacement. Good News! I am giving it a '4' due to the first lasting more than a year and still going. When I first got this, I was not sure about how useful it might be. It has helped in finding keys at night and in dim light. The small watch battery has lasted more than a year. Also when pressing and holding the button it is bright enough to see the lock at night. I recommend this item.I received the replacement fob. In the battery compartment are two contacts. The main contact is a coiled spring with a foam or silicone ring around it. When the button on the fob is pressed the ring is compressed and makes contact with the coiled spring. This turns on the light. In the replacement fob this spring was too tall and the light stays 'on' continuously. Not good for battery life. The second contact is a small metal tab that is on the outside of the ring . This makes contact with the battery and the lessor light is turned on all of the time. In my experience the battery will last over a year. This is working on the replacement. So, I will downgrade my rating for two out of three not working correctly and give up trying to obtain a fully functional fob on my last try.

Love Having This on My Keyring!
I've had several of these and they are great! I can easily find my keys in the bottom of a deep purse, but the light isn't bright enough to be annoying. I keep my keys on my nightstand and the light is never a bother, but I know where they are. The reason I've had several is that I keep giving them away to friends who admire the convenience of being able to see keys in a purse and having a slightly wimpy, but very usable (find that keyhole!) flashlight. The only problem I've ever had is with the one currently on my keys... it wanted to stay in the "bright" mode. I opened it up, pressed the spring under the battery down to make it a little flatter, and it's fixed! The back IS more difficult to get off than I'd like, but it is doable. Love to have that aspect of this fixed. However, I LOVE the concept and since GlowLight went out of business, this is the only thing I've found that operates this way. Glow in the dark is fine if it's exposed to light, but I want to find my keys that are always hiding in the bottom of my purse!

Well made.
This is OK. Works as described, is lightweight. I don't use the "flashlight" button - just haven't needed it. The nightlight does show up in the dark on a table or wall hook. Came in handy on vacation, but it isn't real bright and really isn't noticeable in daylight at all. I'd hoped it would help me find the keys in the bottom of a tote or handbag, but for some reason this didn't work. The clip fits on my key ring, but it is not a key fob itself. I had to buy a larger spring clip fob for the big ring that holds my car key/ remote & frequent shopper cards to hook onto my purse or belt loop.I give this 4 stars because I think it might be helpful to others; it's made well, appears quite sturdy. Since I am retired I don't drive at night much - that is probably the key :) factor there.

Works great my adult daughter lives it
Hard to find an adult glow in dark key chain. My adult daughter loves it. Lining of her purse is black.

The light helps so much
These are amazing! I bought one for myself because I kept loosing my keys in my purse. I also bought one for my mom for the same reason and she absolutely loves it. Our purses are full with a lot of stuff so these make it so easy to find our keys.

Light Up Your Purse Life
After pulling tab to initiate light the light came on then I pressed the button and light would not dim or turn off. Wish it would work like it is supposed to, this light makes it so much easier to see inside a dark purse. Light now stays on full time.

REALLY love this light!
I put this on my list and managed to snag it on super sale or something for cheap. The light it gives off is a cool, white. It does not look like the amazon image. At first it looked like a flashlight that it dying, but what did I expect for the money. It works really well for me finding my keys or pack instantly. At night I can see a faint, much less than nightlight, glow of where they are. If there is no glow on my dresser I know where to find them.I have professionally diagnosed ADD and for 30 years. I often set things down and loose them. This seems to help with that. If nothing else I can shut the light and find my keys.I plan to vuy several more next sale to tag camping gear and other outdoor items.

constant light
I bought this for my keychain to be able to find it. For that purpose it works really well and gets a 4.5. Other than taking the battery out there you can't shut it off. I understand that this is supposed to stay on all the time but it's really bright at night and I have to cover up the keychain (along with the light from my phone recharging) to get it darker in the room. It serves it's purpose. If you don't keep your keys in your room it's a great thing. The button for the extra light is fine. It does get somewhat brighter but I don't use it often. I think at night it's bright enough you could use it on the dog collar as well if there aren't bright lights around. I do have three of these.

Great! With small fix.
My light didn't have a good connection at first; it blinked, then "died" upon removal if the plastic strip and wouldn't go on when I pushed the flashlight button. It was an easy fix, though. I folded a sticky note and trimmed it to roughly the size of the button battery to push it down for better contact. Now it works great!I won't have to scrounge for my badge at the time clock and will have a small light for checking on my patients at night.

Worked well for a year, longer than I expected
I wanted to be able to find my keychain after dark, in my purse or in the car. It did that, though the light was a glow and not a way to do something else like read something. When you press the button it does get brighter to help you fit a key in a lock, etc.The real goal was to find a way to be able to prevent someone I know from losing her key in the dark in the grass again. This would do that, I think, if the place the key drops isn’t too deep. The only downside is not being able to put a new battery in. PLEASE MAKE ONE WITH THAT OPTION!

Best Keychain EVER!!
Why didn't someone invent this sooner??! Makes it sooo easy to find in my blackhole of a purse or to spot if I dropped my keys somewhere (which I did, at night, in tall grass! Found it in seconds!) The light is perfectly dim, just right, but quick press of the button and it lights up brighter, enough to find the keyhole in the door or to light a path. I had to adjust the mechanism inside as the little latch didn't put enough pressure to activate the light. Some folded up scraps of paper worked perfectly and I was able to adjust the light just right. The clip is easy enough to use, and detaches quickly if I need it away from my keys, like searching for something underneath the backseat of my car. The battery is very easy to replace as well. I'll probably buy more of these for my friends who are always losing their keys in their purses.

Love this keychain light
First what it is not: a beam light that you can shine around. But what it is, is great: a constant light on your keys that allows you to find them in the dark, or attach to things you want to keep track of in the dark, use as a mini night light, etc. Keeps its glow as advertised for a year. The extra light when you push the button is not as useful as a phone flashlight. Can help find a keyhole, but not very good for finding other things since it's kind of weak and not directional. Another nice thing is it uses the common CR2032 battery, which if you stock button batteries you're pretty likely to stock. Just did an easy battery change after a year of good use.
