Universal Auto Seat Belt Adjuster for Adults Children Comfort Neck Protector Strap Positioner

I have had mine sing April 2020. It has done it's job mostly up until this last year or so. Can't remember when it started to fall off randomly, but that's the issue now.I live in Alaska. This matters because the hook part of the strap gets caught on gloves, sleeves, some coats. And now has a permanent curl due to it being caught on thing's since I've owned it. I think having the strap wrap a bit more could help with this issue.Due to smaller people utilizing my car and being uncomfortable removing it, I think is why the hook part of the strap smoothed out so much.I am hoping to buy a replacement one soon. And hope it holds up just as long if not longer. Then this. And if it doesn't, I'll update this review.

I really liked this item and it really did help keep the seatbelt off my neck. I found it to be useful, easy to use and comfortable. However, mine is not holding up after less than 2 months of use and not on a daily basis. I didn't mind paying the $20 if it lasted longer than it did. The stitching is starting to fray and the velcro isn't as secure so it tends to pop off while in use. Wish it had lasted longer because I would have highly recommended it.

It's easy to put on, but if you are short, you have to move it almost all the way to your side and then it is still lifted up so it crosses your body in the wrong place. Still, it is better than having your neck broken by a regular seat belt.

***UPDATE June 2019*** Still 5 starsI have not had to undo/open up the new wider Velcro since I started using the new wide Velcro strap version. I’ve used them in both cars now for at least 4 months. The original version gave out completely by the 3rd month due to constantly having to adjust the seatbelt and open up the skinny Velcro. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to keep their seatbelt in just the right place without discomfort, hassle or loss of safety.***UPDATE Feb 2019*** Now 5+ stars!I was contacted by the company and they are very passionate about their product. They sent me a bunch of info regarding the testing done on its safety and basically it comes down to the less gap between yourself and the belt the quicker the crash signal activation thus leading to your head not hitting the airbag as fast. This is very good indeed and I now feel confident about their claim.They also then sent me their new prototype. Which is FANTASTIC! They listened and have changed the skinny Velcro type closure to a very heavy duty thick piece. I’ve tested it out and so far I’m convinced that the Safety Belt Comfort (SBC) will no longer just pop off. It feels very secure. Also, the seat belt no longer twists inside of the SBC. I believe it’s because of the better attachment. This will also keep the closure strong over time as you no longer have to constantly undo the closure to untwist the seat belt which probably led to the skinny closure popping open over time.Another benefit of the new thicker closure is that it stays on the seat belt when you take it off but it just moves over slightly. When you go to put on your seat belt again, it is a much easier process than before. With the skinny closure I always had a hard time being able to lock in my seat belt due to the twisting and movement of the SBC. Now with the new closure I can easily lock in my seat belt straight away and easily slide the SBC to the perfect position for me and it holds in that position while I’m driving. Not only does this give you a smooth time putting on your seatbelt but it also makes it easy for different drivers to use the seat belt and easily adjust the SBC for their own needs without having to take it off the belt, even if they wouldn’t need one.The company let me know that if anyone is concerned about their SBC that has the skinny closure, that you should just mention it and they will send you the new prototype at no cost to you!They also let me know they are working on a model for chemo port comfort improvement and if it tests out they feel it might also work for pace maker comfort.Overall I am extremely pleased with the new prototype and with this company’s passion and customer service. I now have the product which I was so excited about to begin with plus more with the added benefits caused by the new closure. The new prototype versions will be in both of my cars from here on out. I will happily recommend this product to any other shorties I know.I will update this review again after using the SBC after a few months if I find anything has changed. Original Review:I have been using this for 3 months. I thought this was the greatest thing when I first started using it. No more feeling like I will be decapitated. No more constantly fighting with my belt as I drive. So I bought another to have one in each car. Others are correct in saying that over time it just keeps popping off and the Velcro just won’t hold. 1 star off. I can’t fix it by permanently securing it as the seatbelt gets twisted inside over time and you need to take the adjuster off and straighten the belt every so often. Another star off. Thankfully I haven’t had the chance/situation to know if it indeed it will hold the belt tight against you when having to quickly hard brake/crash. I haven’t been able to get my seatbelt to do that “I think you’re crashing so I’m going to lock you down” that happens here and there without the adjuster so I worry that maybe in fact this belt adjuster won’t actually work in a crash to hold you tight. Third star off. Since I’m not even using it anymore, I would give it zero stars but I have to give it 1 star to review. They can have it for what seems like a good idea but poor execution. If it actually stayed on I wouldn’t even mind having to untwist the belt now and again. However, until I felt secure it would actually let the safety belt feature of locking you down in a crash work I wouldn’t bother.

The belt does stay in place better, but the shoulder strap part of the belt itself still folds over. But since it does stay in place better, I will say it's worth trying.

Edit: I wanted to update this review because I had it on my seatbelt when I happened to be in an accident. A guy ran a red light in front of me and I couldn’t stop in time. My car is completely totaled (despite it being a new-ish car, 2019) and this thing absolutely saved me from severe injuries. It held up perfectly despite the impact, which kept my seatbelt over my chest (prior to using it the seatbelt went across my neck). I had bruising across my chest, which is to be expected. I can’t imagine what injuries I would have had without this seatbelt adjustor- my neck would have absorbed the impact instead. I’m so damned glad I had it and it worked as needed. I want to add that I’ve tried a few other brands/versions of seatbelt adjustors. They never seemed to hold the seatbelt well and some would partially come undone while in use. Not this one though. This one is truly designed with safety in mind. Once it’s on it stays in place. I’m sure had I been using a different version of a seatbelt adjustor things could have turned out different. I think the plastic ones would have broken and the metal ones would have slid off during impact. If your seatbelt does not sit over the center of your chest like it should I 100% recommend this seatbelt adjustor.I'm not even 5ft tall, so seatbelts are not really made to fit me even at their lowest adjustment. They always cut across my neck, so I'm grateful I haven't ended up in an accident prior to purchasing this. It was a bit tricky to install (as other reviewers have mentioned), but once I figured that out it does an amazing job of getting the seatbelt to sit across my chest where it should be. I tried a few other versions of these seat belt adjusters but they always failed to stay in place or hold the seat belt tight enough. I'm very happy with this one and will continue to use it.

I've had this for about 6 months and it's hard to keep the velcro closure together. It's lost so much of it's grip that I canot take it off to adjust it or clean it for fear it won't stick together when I put it back on. I wanted to love this product, because it does keep the seatbelt off my neck, but I just can't when it's going to need replacing every 3-4 months.

This is awesome. I can't believe how comfortable I am in the car. No more pulling on the shoulder strap to move it over. No more slumping over to get away from the strap. Easy to install. Easy to adjust by sliding it toward or away from the buckle to adapt to wearing a coat.
