An important machine for treatment of dry eyes
These goggles are very useful for treatment of Sorgrens and other problems that cause very dry eyes. The googles get warm when a wet paper ring is placed inside , this makes warm steam that humidifies the eyes. The machine has a timer which rings when they have been on the correct length of time. ( just a few minutes) Used morning and evening they humidify the eye , which can be wiped clean with the sterile cloths . I keep mine beside the bed and use it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. When ones eyes are very dry , there is a build up that collects and blocks the tear ducts . This machine helps keep the eye moist and clean. Often warm cloths are recommended , but these can cause an eye infection of not properly sterile. A consequence of very dry eyes can be ulcers on the eyes that can become infected . Which is why keeping the eyes clean, and the use of this machine and the sterile wipes is important .

Made my eyes worse
I have had MGD since the 80s, but it was misdiagnosed by doctors for years (no internet back then) and this has left me a severe and chronic dry eye condition. I regularly see what treatments are out there with the hope that something will be invented to stop my eyes feeling like sandpaper. I have looked at the Blephasteam for a while but could not justify the high cost. Recently, I thought to myself - what if this expensive gadget was the one thing that could really make a difference so I took the plunge. I used it twice a day for a few days and it was simply awful. It did not get anywhere near warm enough to help and I found the steam really irritating to my eyes. It was also a really bad fit on my small face, leaving red marks for hours after using it. It's taken a few days of using hot compresses three times each day to get my eyes back to where they were. So unless you have cash to spare, save your money and stick with the hot compresses which cost around £10 each.

Effective and Easy to use
These goggles are easy to use and the instructions are clear. The only thing to remember is the initial warm up time and you can always plug them in and go away and do something else while you’re waiting. They are fairly comfortable to wear and you can see to read, watch tv etc while using them. I’ve had them for a couple of months now and use them first thing in the morning and late evening. I have dry eye in one eye and while it’s not gone away I certainly feel that some of my symptoms have improved. My eye is clear and unsticky in the morning, the lid no longer red and puffy and doesn’t itch as much. The goggles are expensive especially with having to buy the rings regularly as well but for me they are a really good purchase.

Sounds good, in practice a mixed experience.
We needed this to treat stuck eyelids first thing in the morning. Yes it has some value but depends on a person who can see well enough finding the kit, plugging it in, pressing an almost invisible button, dampening and inserting the rings into the device. It is also very easy to miss the alert indicating it is ready for use. And again someone with good eyesight then has to work out the led messages and offer the goggles to the victim. Overall the unit has the look and feel of something from a 1950's hospital.Sorry. Would have loved be able to say this is a great solution. Presently the best DIY solution for dry eyes / Belpharitis seems to be a cheap microwave and a supply of heat eye masks. If you can persuade your GP to prescribe Celluvisc drops in sufficient quantity these can help a lot.

Gave me contact dermatitis
It’s clearly a very well made product but I had a skin reaction (contact dermatitis) to the material and dermatologist confirmed that had to stop using. Shame as hoping it would work. I have 2* as unable to return despite the fact it caused more problems than it cured

Absolute lifesaver!
For the first time in 6 years, I can see without pain, irritation and soreness. I truly cannot thank the makers enough.I was diagnosed with acute blepheritis at the age of 37 and have lived with persistently painful eyes and recurring infection. I washed my eyes as directed, used copious quantities of Lacrilube/Xalin at night, eye drops during the day (which made it worse) and regularly eye infection drops for the frequent conjunctivitis that came after, not to mention hot flannels and heat masks. My eyes would get progressively worse as the day wore on, making it a race to get everything done before they were too painful. It progressed so that I had to cut down my hours at work, and could not drive for more than 10 minutes. Many friends could not remember what I looked like without sunglasses on.After a week of using this, my life was literally transformed. I have none of the debilitating symptoms and just cannot believe my vision has been restored. if you suffer from severe blephritis, please invest!I have never felt the need to leave reviews before but wanted to assure others that this really does work. I simply wouldn’t be without it!!!!

I would strongly recommend this to anyone with dry eyes
I have suffered with dry eyes and Blepharitis for 17 years ever since my first eye operation for Glaucoma. Despite regular trips to my Ophthalmic (NHS) consultants and despite repeated concerns expressed to the various doctors concerned it was not diagnosed until one month ago. Not only have I experienced extreme discomfort for all of that time but have also suffered with cloudy and indistinct vision in my right eye. After the very first useage I noticed an improvement in both comfort and vision. I am now Blepharitis free and my vision has much improved. I now use the equipment as a routine preventative treatment. The device is expensive as are the consumables but worth every penny. I would strongly recommend this to anyone with dry eyes.

Waste of money - does not get hot enough and breaks just after warranty period has finished.
Waste of £200. Got this to help with blepharitis, but it does not get hot enough to make a difference. After just over a year it no longer works and I was told it’s out of the warranty period and was nothing I can do. Just stick with the microwaveable eye pads.
