187 Killer Pads Knee Pads, Elbow Pads Combo Pack, Black, Large/X-Large

Last much longer than others. Less comfortable. Runs small.
Let's start of with the issues. These run small and you'll need to buy a larger size. I typically wear a medium and had to go with a L/XL size. The knee pads follow the contour of your knee when your in a skating stance, so they can be uncomfortable when you straighten your legs.Honestly, these are minor inconveniences for the quality and durability of these pads. They will far exceed any other brand of pads out there. I have taken so many falls and the fabric is barely tearing. Of course, these won't last forever, but typically your knee pads will go first (if you're me anyway). These pads stay in place for most of my sessions, but they can move if you slide or land on them. The plastic plate on these pads is very strong and tends toward allowing you to slide through a bail rather than straight colliding with a surface. This is true even on concrete especially when using in conjunction with 187 Killer derby wrist guards. I have slid many times and the plate is still going strong. There is also some pretty thick foam padding in these pads that help reduce the shock to a great degree.Overall, I would try out Triple Eight Savers to see if you'll stick around. If you where those out, then these 187 Killer pads should be your next step, because they offer great protection, longevity, and quality at a more than fair price. These are great for inline skating, skateboarding, BMX, roller derby, and even ice skating.

Elbow pads fit. Knee pads don't :(
According to size charts for 187 Killer Pads knee pads, the L/XL size was supposed to fit me. Elbows fit fine, but the Knee pads are really tight and the bottom of each each really cuts into my shin (even though it's a pad); I can't really stand up totally straight either, because of that. They do fit okay I guess if I don't put my leg/knee through the elastic part (still slightly tight, but nowhere near as bad as with my leg/knee through them). However, unless I'd be wearing pants, the material of those straps really chafe my skin quickly and harsh. So, unless I can find some smooth material that I can wrap around those bands, I'll have to see if I can sell the knee pads. I've had nothing but trouble buying most roller skating products because I've had to do so online, where you can try anything on first. It makes me want to almost give up on trying to recapture something I loved doing as a child.

Knee pads very small, elbow pads fit, fabric is abrasive
I ordered L/XL based on the size chart on their official website, yet the knee pads are waaay too small around. The painfully cut into my legs, I can't even stand in them and the padding digs into my legs so hard it would cause bruising if I wore them to walk a few steps. The plastic knee cap part is huge, though. The material that touches the skin is incredibly abrasive and tights/leggings would be needed underneath. The elbow pads fit fine enough but the material is so abrasive that sleeves would be required. I can't imagine anyone besides a very tall, thin legged person who doesn't want to stand up would want these. The knee pads are so way off in size I wonder if they are mislabeled by the manufacturer. I'm disappointed and promptly am returning.

Not fancy, but solid.
Bought these for outdoor/trail skating because I've been off-skates for a while and my old derby gear doesn't quite fit anymore. They're a good option for that purpose, or as a starter set for people who are just getting into derby and not sure they want to spend a couple hundred for high-end gear (or smaller skaters who don't need the bulk). They don't have the soft, fluffy pillow feel of bulkier pads, but they will catch you when you fall. These do run small -- the L/XL feels like a M in most other pads I've tried -- but the size chart was accurate. As for the review that mentioned they were uncomfortable when standing up, they're designed for proper skating and skateboarding stance, which involves bent knees. If you're not bending your knees when you try these on, of course they will be uncomfortable. That's not the gear's fault.

Great pads for skateboarding kids
This is our preferred brand for my kids who skateboard and ride scooters. Trust their durability and protection. Vendor shipped quickly and product arrived in perfect condition. My 9 year old wears an Adult XS, and my 6 year old wears the JR size.

Can’t straighten legs and elbows
Hard to straighten legs and elbows With these on. I have a set of triple eight elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards which are very comfortable but I got the one size fits all and the elbow pads are too big.I am a middle-aged woman going back into rollerskating so I’m worried about protecting my bones, I have already fallen twice. As long as I was getting new elbow pads that actually fit me I decided to go up a quality and buy the 187 killer pads which are supposed to be super durable and padded.I got the S/M size elbow and knee pads combo. While the elbow pads do fit, the knee pads are snug. The circumference of my knees at the crook are 14.5” but I needed to get the S/M because I have thin arms. The 187 killer pads feel a lot more secure than the triple eight pads that I got. They are a sleeve instead of just the Velcro like the triple 8’s. I actually prefer just the Velcro, they’re more comfortable. But I can not straighten my legs or my arms wearing the 187 killer pads. The kneepads especially are uncomfortable because of that reason. But my knees are always kind of bent when I’m rollerskating anyway since I’m re-learning and I’ll take them out for a spin and see if I can deal with it. I’m keeping them regardless because they do feel super protective.

Size seems to be off
I ordered these pads after measuring my legs. I was an inch over the medium and just inside the large. I ordered the larger because I didn't want to have my knee squeezed while I was skating. Unfortunately, the larger size was too big. The elastic was not loose really but the pads were huge! and much more than I needed.

Wrong combo pack
The elbow pads fit great! Knee pads a little tight. Did NOT get the wrist guards. Disappointed, to say the least, considering the cost of the pack.

Ottimi e abbondanti in sicurezza e per chi va sullo skate la sicurezza non è mai troppa. Ottimo prodotto. Prima la sicurezza e poi il divertimento.
