Great Start to a New Trilogy!
I have been a fan of the franchise since the beginning (1968), and this is one of my favorites. Great movie, great fun, start of a great plot and faithful ti the originals. I was concerned when Disney got involved, but they did a really good job with the start of yet another trilogy. Highly recommended!

Way too expensive
$30. For a DVD and $50. For Blu-ray?! Y'all are outta your minds.

Great start for the new trilogy
Kingdom of the Planet the Apes begins after the last one ends. Fantastic movie with a great story. As for the low rating, people need to stop writing bad reviews for the price. Especially when they know that the price now is just the suggested retail market price and by the time hte movie is released it will have the price it is listed now. Calm down.

Too Expensive
Not paying $50 for a 4k movie. That's rediculous.

Great Photo Realistic Ape CGI, Very Long, Unsurpsing Story
🍿 🍿 1/2 (Out of 5)The CGI of the apes, their articulation and photo-realistic appearance and moving in natural environments is very good. The facial ticks and believable expressions on the Apes is astounding, but the film, unlike the originals films of the 70’s, is very long and drawn out. Very long scenes of panoramic shots and long gazing looks makes the story weak and the plot dull and somewhat predictable.Directed by Wes Ball and written by Josh Friedman but based on characters by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver from a premise from Planet of the Apes by Pierre Boulle – this film is literally underwritten. The passions and feelings are expected and in some cases quite believable, but the motivation for everyone seems forced – for both the humans and the apes.Simply put, many years after the reign of Caesar from the first films, a young ape Noa (played/voice by Owen Teague) goes on a journey that will lead him to question everything he's been taught about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike. Meeting a speaking female human (played by Freya Allan) and with the help of a very intriguing and the most interesting ape, an orangutan Raka (voiced/played by Peter Macon), the film has a sub plot that was far more interesting then the main plot – gaining the trust of an eagle, which was good.Otherwise, the film is trite with story, trite with action (predictable too) and lacking the real empathy to keep this 145 minute film interesting throughout. Wait for streaming on this one.

The Masks
After watching the trailers I was disappointed by the plot. Noa (Owen Teague) a nude chimpanzee with no genitals is part of a primitive Chimp village who train eagles to get fish for them because Chimps love fish. A human is following him around. A group of Gorillas who also follow the teaching of Caesar burn his village and take prisoners. Noa must travel to the forbidden valley to rescue his clan. Here he teams up with Mae (Freya Allan) a rare talking human to help him. She has a hidden agenda. The film pays homage to the original film with a doll that says Mama, the name Nova, and the dead human scarecrows on X frames. This made me think this is a distant prequel to the original, although a lot did not line up. The characters didn't excite me. The plot could have been better.

Great movie, awful price.
It's a fantastic movie. I loved it, but $40 for a blu-ray is too expensive!

Fantastic New Entry into this series
This was a fantastic beginning to the new trilogy in the post Caesar world. The special effects remain top notch and the acting and story was great. I really hope this trilogy continues long enough to get us to the original POTA.BTW, one of the 1 star ratings was for the pre-release price of the disc. Not for the movie itself.
