I'm very pleased with how sturdy this proofing box is, but the bamboo is lightweight so it's not bulky. The design is well thought-out, the lid is a good fit and weight so that it keeps in moisture for proper proofing on my dough. I am getting the results I'd hoped for in my kitchen, and as a hobbyist baker that's the highest praise I can give. It's a proper size for 6 smallish pizza doughs or 4 medium pizza dough rounds, so it's just perfect for when I want to have a few people over and am looking to make a meal where I can show off a little. The overall look of the box is good; the glue on the seams is on the messy side (as you can see in my photo of the box's interior) and I might hope for slightly more perfection on that given the price point, but it doesn't affect performance so I don't mind one bit. I'd rather it were lavishly glued like this than not put together well, since the seal on the join is the most important thing!

I'm extremely satisfied with this Pizza Dough Proofing Box. It has significantly improved the quality of my homemade pizza, and I love that it's both functional and stylish. If you're serious about making delicious pizza at home, this box is a must-have.

This item is a bamboo box primarily designed to proofing doughs. Proofing being the process in which gluten strands assemble in yeast doughs, whereby the dough will rise after being kneaded.The box allows for doughballs to slightly expand in size over hours (or days if being refrigerated). Enclosing the dough in a proofing container enables the process to occur without exposing the dough to open air which tends to dry it out. The airtight lid seal holds in moisture allowing for appropriate fermentation of sour doughs.With the given dimensions of this proofing box (12 inches wide by 16 inches long by 4.3 inches deep), it can fit up to 6 dough balls that in the 250-280 gram range of weight. It can also be used for storage of other foodstuffs, like salads, when you aren't currently proofing any dough.It's a decent construction, and aesthetically pleasing. It matches nicely with my pine wood dough board, so after I have worked the dough out on the board, I can transfer it with the included bamboo spatula and gently lower the doughballs into the bamboo box.It sells for about $45, which isn't particularly cheap, but it's a fair price for a long term investment.

Great box, the wood here is a bit lighter than others, but it works great as is. Ive had no issues with my dough drying out while proofing and with the box, I use the bottom as a stretching surface also. Makes me look like a much better pizzailo than I really am.

For full transparency, I got this for storage and not for dough proofing. However, I think I can review it adequately.First, the bamboo material is incredibly stylish. It looks very strong and is reminiscent of the Japanese interior design style that uses a lot of natural elements like wood, jute, or twine as a few examples. This is a nice sized box and can fit a lot of things. For the purposes of proofing, this is also a nice size and fit. I can imagine you can put six in, no problem.The material has a slight glossiness that I really like. It gives it some charm without going into the gaudy or childishness.
