Nokia 8 Sirocco UK SIM-Free Smartphone - Black

The battery could last 3 days for low usage, or 2 days for moderate and high usage. This is way above the standard of smartphones these days. The build quality feels premium and expensive, not so plasticky but very solid. The screen colour shift around the edges doesn't bother me, though it would be great not to have it. I bought directly from Amazon when the price was heavily slashed down to £350, so it's great value at that price.

I really liked this phone, it feels great runs well and looks fantastic. The screen however is absolutely terrible, the blue haze on the edge while reading a white page like Amazon is horrific and makes your eyes strain. Nokia are in denial about this being an issue and literally don't care, I think it comes down to the fact they have over saturated the colours to have better direct sunlight performance. I am returning it as it's simply unusable and other phones in the same price bracket have far superior screens.On a side note it did update to 8.1

This is an amazing phone. Owned for about 1 year now, cannot fault it.I had a very very specific set of requirements when choosing this phone; high performance, small chassis, reliability, pure android and decent battery life. This phone smashes all of those out the water.Literally the only gripe is the single loud speaker on the bottom edge. If they somehow managed to make this a front facing stereo speaker phone, I'd have bought two so that I could still use it when the first one broke!Camera is excellent as well.Don't be too concerned with reports of faults and screen haze on the edge; look, it's an edge to edge display, the curved edges will refract some light, it's called physics. It's barely noticeable and some actually like the effect.You will not go wrong with this phone. Not looking forward to the day where I have to replace it...Edit:After about 12 months with the phone it seems the screen has cracked. I generally treat my phones well and as such have never sustained a cracked screen until now. The speed at which the screen is deteriorating since the initial crack is alarming. If you search the internet you will find that this is actually a common experience, with no cost effective solution to repair. I've taken off two stars as it seems that the design has been placed above robustness.I will be buying a Google Pixel 3 to replace this, instead of buying another sirocco.One day I hope to see a better effort from Nokia!
