After years of using emory boards and metal nail files I have permanently switched to using crystal glass nail files. I first saw these at a folk art festival and thought they where interesting. I finally broke down and purchased this one and I can feel a difference in my nails. Although I have very soft nails that break easily, since I have been using this file, my nails don't break as much. I am a glass file fan, and have been for many years. One has only to look at what a nail looks like under a magnifying glass, and then watch as she files with an emery board, metal file, and a glass file--that will definitely convince anyone a good glass file is the best! I had one in my purse, but it broke. I was hoping to find one with a sturdy case: this file is fine but the case is just clear plastic-- sort of like a short rectangular version of a toothbrush holder. We'll see how well it stays together and holds up!

These are the best glass files! I have tried glass files from several different manufacturers and makers. But these are the best out there for sure! I play guitar and these allow me to keep my nails in tip top shape. Your nails will be a lot nicer looking if you start using one these files. Best thing is they never seem to wear out. I have one that I've been using for over two years. And my nails and thick and hard.

This product was supposed to be so good whether your nails are strong and thick or brittle and thin. That was not the case, in fact it made my fingers bleed, and also you are supposed to be able to have it go back to clean and look like brand new after a simple cleanse, this also didn't happen for me, I tried to clean the white dusty "powder" from your nails off and just like all other nail files it never looks the same and now has the embedded dead nail powder residue left on the nail file. So I will be going back to my store brand name metal nail files that I use until they get to nasty and then I simply purchase another. I would not recommend this item to anyone, it's too much money for what you get.

Crummy product. I've bought one before in the store, wish I could remember where, and it worked much, much better than this one.

It worked well until it broke. It snapped in two without any effort on my part. It was in my bag and then it broke. I did not know how it broke, I did not notice it breaking. It was just broken when I went to take it out.

It does shape the nails very well and does not leave little snags on the nails themselves. Regular files leave snags on my nails that can catch on clothing and other things, plus make my nails prone to tearing. This file shaped my nails fine, and leaves them nice and smooth. It does not take any longer to file and shape them than with the sandpaper kind of file. Actually I think this file may do it faster.

The file is wonderful. The case chipped in my purse, so i keep the file at home I dont want to break it. The case still works and I keep the file in it but both would have ended up breaking in my purse. The file isnt that fragile either but its nice. I think I may buy some more glass nail files too. Some as gifts some to keep. They really are worth having.
