I've done walstad aquariums using potting compost before. Thought I'd try this with some margin plants kept like house plants. Walstad states no more than around 1 inch of soil else you risk gases forming. So when filling a pot with several inches of this soil I was sceptical. However, no bubbles of toxic gas!?!?! My thoughts are this soil is very decomposed compared to regular garden potting soil and in combination with the plant roots it prevents gas build up. So far, plants are growing very well :) Although it's not cheap.

Pond Lilly is very happy with the soil.

Its ok, but its very bitty, in other words, its not as compact as i would have liked, so whenpotting up lilies for the water feature all the bits float out and make a right mess.

A perfect soil loved planting with it . A good sized bag at an excellent price with quick delivery.

My plant arrived today 18th Jan it was packed well and had everything I needed it is now planted up and is now my small pond just waiting to enjoy the lily

Good, just wish I had ordered more, didn’t realise the bag was smaller than expected.
