Low profile LED PIR security light
After fitting one of these as a ceiling porch light for an elderly friend I've bought a further two to replace outside lights at my home. What I like about these lights is they are low profile, well made and have a discrete contemporary appearance, whilst still functioning as a security light. They've a solid construction made of cast aluminium with a powder coat finish in black/silver or white/silver and robust plastic lens. There's nothing flimsy about them and seem built to last and maintenance free.On the back of the light fitting is a five inch cable located in a 6 inch by 1 inch rebate which you need to splice on to your mains electricity supply. As its low profile and there's little room here, similarly low profile connectors are needed otherwise the unit won't fit flush to the wall. Ideal Spliceline push fit (pack of 10 from Screwfix) worked for me.Fitting to the wall is achieved by a thin 5 1/4 inch spring steel bar which you screw to the wall with two screws and then push the light on to it. There's no exposed screws once it's attached so if ever you need to remove the light, inserting a thin flat blade screwdriver between the wall and the back of the fitting will do this. Before you start I'd recommend making a card template to help you locate where you'll drill and attach the cable.

looks great - limited features
I like this light. It looks smart, is easy to install, very bright and motion detection works well. There are no settings though for the PIR sensor - so you can't change the distance/sensitivity of the PIR. However, I now have 3 of these lights and am ver happy with them.

PIR rather insensitive
Replaced an old incandescent PIR system in a narrow side alley.Much less sensitive - have to walk until almost directly in front of it to make it turn on (the old one detected at either end of the alley).Normally I'd increase the sensitivity, but there are no adjustments, making it rather disappointing.

Elegant enclosure and PIR works well. Cable too short for rear entry.
I used this to replace an LED PIR floodlight which illuminated my garage door on approach. With a new rolled garage door I had to install a flush fitting light to one side of the door. This was the most attractive PIR LED floodlight I found. It works very well, although you have no manual control over its operation. However I do not find this a problem. However, it has rear cable entry which hides the cable. As I had to drill a 32cm hole into the garage for the cable feed, the supplied cable was far too short for my application. I replaced it with three core 13A cable long enough to wire into a fused spur unit inside the garage. Works very well and would recommend the unit, but be aware of the short cable lead. Do not regret buying at all.

comes on when wind blows
well made light ,seems very susceptible to wind trigger ,short lead is a pain, could be better.

Neat
We got two. One above each garage door. Neat, clean looking. They work well one will come on as nec, the other kicking in if neearer. Helps to see in car boot if reversed in. No leaving odd foods in boot after fallen out a bag..Hubbie fitted, he was happy, didnt complain of instructions.

Does the job. Just.
No adjustment in sensitivity or how long light stays on. But does the job. Low profile design.

Perfect courtesy light by office entrance door
We have flood lights on timers on our office car park but these don't cover the entrance porche. I wanted a PIR light during the winter months to help people see the key slot etc when opening the office and locking up at night. This is easy to fit and works very effectively. It might not be the prettiest unit for a house but for a commercial property on a business park it's great.
