And Then Comes Summer

This was a beautiful little book about summer. I used it at the end of the school year in a preschool class for children with developmental disabilities as a spring board for a unit about summer. The book has brightly illustrated pictures on each page. The children were very attentive during oral reading and never tired of having it read to them. I feel that it helped in the development of concepts related to summer.

I really loved this book. I read it to my students on the last day of virtual teaching last year.

And Then Comes Summer is a great book to read right before summer vacation. I read the book to my third grade class, and we brainstormed different activities that they would like to do for the summer, followed by a fun writing craft.

I purchased this book for my daughter's classroom. When it arrived every page has a crease due to packaging and mishandling. This is the 2ndbook I have bought that has arrived this week Bent! Yes I know it is paperback but noone wants to give a gift all tattered!

We loved this book. We read it before leaving school for the summer.

Ein stimmungsvolles Buch mit zauberhaften Bildern, die auf die schönen Dinge des Sommers einstimmen. Auch typisch amerikanische Traditionen kommen vor, wie "going to the parade" . Schade, dass es nicht mehr Bände dieser Reihe mit dieser Illustratorin gibt!
