Will the case fit a stylus/pen made by other manufacturers, or only the Remarkable stylus?

Depends on how close the other manufacturer's pens are to the reMarkable pen. The pen slot is designed for the reMarkable pen so if you have one that is the same dimensions then it will fit. It will also fit a slightly longer pen as there is some extra room at the tip. If it is a smaller diameter is should fit fine as it is held in magnetically. A larger diameter will not fit.

Does the case affect the handwriting experience? It looks like it would interfere with where the side of my hand/wrist rests as I'm writing.
