For 6.0 Diesels, You Need This Tool - The Standard Depth Tool Won't Work
For any of you who have the infamous 6.0 Diesel, this is the tool you need. The standard Ford tools commonly found at any auto parts store will simply not work. Before I knew that, I struggled for 6 hours trying to get three of my lines loose. I did somehow manage to get one line to come out with the standard tool from a local auto parts store, but that was after much effort and I think a bit of luck. The second line I ended up giving up on and unscrewed the quick-disconnect fitting right out of the threaded bung on the bottom of the radiator/trans cooler. That replacement threaded quick-disconnect fitting cost me $35 bucks at NAPA, so had I had started out with this tool, it would have paid for itself immediately.I only had one line left to remove when this tool arrived. It was one of the lines attached to the transmission filter, which is in pretty awkward location. I put this tool and and pushed it in and immediately heard the 'click' you are supposed to hear, which is the sound of the internal retention ring releasing from the trans line.I put a bit of force on the trans line and it popped right out. Literally a five second job compared to the 2+ hours I had previously spent on this particular one line before giving up and going back in the house to do some research. It was during that research that I found this tool. The attached photo shows this tool compared to the basic Ford tool I had bought from a local auto parts store.

Not Perfect, but worked on my 2005 6.0 Transmission Lines
I used this tool to change a transmission line on my 2005 F250 with the 6.0 diesel and Torqueshift transmission. I originally purchased a generic plastic transmission line tool. Those don't work at all on this pickup; I actually would up cutting the transmission line (only one needed to be cut, the other has a rubber section that can be slipped off) with a copper tubing cutter so that I could remove the cab as the transmission lines were the only thing holding up my head stud job. I ordered this tool to replace the line afterward with a new one from the dealership. It took me about half an hour with this tool. This tool slips over the line and then you force it into the fitting to release the quick connects. I had trouble applying enough force with this small of a tool. The main problem is trying to push the tool in evenly instead of prying on the connection. That being said I don't know of a better tool that is sold and I would highly recommend this tool, its just not as easy as it sounds to release the "quick connects" if your truck is older and they have froze up.If you are planning to disconnect or change your transmission lines on this truck, you don't really need to buy more transmission fluid to top the truck off afterward. I purchased a couple quarts expecting a bunch to leak out, but I didn't loose enough for the fluid level on the dipstick to change.

Solid but not long enough
I got this to disconnect QD on transmission line on Ford F150. The quality is solid in that it is metal. It really is to small to get any leverage and I have medium to large hands. In my opinion it would have been better if a little longer to apply the appropriate pressure on the QD. I was unable to get hem to work and had to buy a different brand tool that was longer.

Replacement upgrade.
I originally bought the Lisle 39660 Tool and broke it and had to replace it with this one which was much sturdier.

This tool ROCKS!
Tiny, fast, effective. I've never had less trouble with this kind of line-separating tool.I attached it to the 1/2" transmission line on the Ford Torqshift/6.0PSD, and gave a gentle push. I was rewarded with a tiny 'snick', and the line came out without fuss or bother - same with the other side of the transmission cooler built into the radiator. No fuss, no muss.Construction's good and solid, the rubber band is more helpful than you'd think, and I found it easy to operate one-handed. It's some 7xxx series hard (and anodized) aluminum, only a tiny bit of brightspotting on the leading edge of the tool after use (on a steel line and steel fitting). I think it'll last for hundreds of uses - way better than a nylon one or trying to use a milk jug handle.I like this little tool so much I will buy the other sizes in the set for fuel lines and A/C lines. This tool made it too easy.
