A ROLLERCOASTER OF SONIC EMOTION!
I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this, but I certainly wasn't anticipating a collage of sound powerful enough to change the way I think about making music. This is the kind of stuff which shouldn't work, but just does. I would go so far as to say that listening to this CD is like eating a cinnamon bacon bun... with your mind!!!I'm a producer of Japanese Soft Disco by trade, so naturally, am always looking for those cutting edge, sonic sequins that will charge the dance floor with joie de vivre. This is not a soft disco record, but it has that kind of panache and tenacity - you know what I'm talking about. I don't know how to describe this music actually, (My percussionist and stylist Grimlock describes it as music from the future that's been back in time!) but the rich textures and expressions of emotion the guys from Manic Lab Media have laid down here have inspired me to put together some of the lushest music beds, the most erratic banjo solos and most violent jazz flute freestyles of my career.Highlights include nuggets like 'Orange Grove', which as a red headed man, I could relate to on many levels - collars to cuffs. I was especially taken with 'Fractions Were Forever' and the brooding, bristling keys on 'Flashing Astonishers'. I've reached heights in audio production I didn't think a bow-legged cockney like myself was capable of. This smorgasbord of sound swept me up in it's vision, and carried me into the sky like a winged unicorn made of binary code and bass. This is not a wall of sound, it's a bear hug of glam-rock wrapped in a blanket of electro. I laughed, I cried, but most importantly, I did the running man. A future classic. Today.
