I don't like to use the term "game changer," but this comes close to it. The magnifier with its bright LED array is awesome. I easily solder tiny, tiny wires that are 1/10 of an inch apart on boards, and the alligator clips are great - very stable. I use this in conjunction with a Quad Hands helper, and it's really wonderful having all of those 'helping hands.' The base is sturdy, the magnifier is great, the lighting is awesome (I wired up a power source so I could plug directly into a 120VAC wall outlet), and this really dramatically increased my productivity and accuracy. Highly Recommended! I have not experienced any of the problems the others have stated. I do like the longer arms, and I use this one in conjunction with the long arms of the Quad Hands, so that helps with positioning and stability.

I love love love this third hand. It’s more like a third fourth fifth and sixth hand. Perfect for my jewelry making projects. I’ve seen others out there but I am so happy I chose this one. Very sturdy and really does the job. The magnifier really comes in handy too. I don’t think I can ever do without it again.

It’s sturdy, heavy, and has a well lit magnifying glass. The arms are very long and are able to reach around most of the work on my bench to provide support without getting in the way. The only thing I don’t like about using these helping hands is the spring tension on the clamps. It is so tight that is squashes the heck out of my wires. Even with the rubber boots over the tips of the clamps, the tension is enough to deform the thinner wires I use in my solder work. Apart from that one criticism, it's a pretty good product.

I was expecting a lightweight soldering third hand, this thing is very sturdy. I got it and put it immediately to work.. and used it to solder some batteries to my shaver which was damaged. It assisted in holding everything in place while I soldered everything together. The arms are very stiff yet flexible which is perfect and not too limp which would cause issues with heavier board.Excellent purchase.. highly recommend!

The arms are way too long, and the bendable metal doesn't hold its shape. It looks great; build is high-quality, but you really can't use it at all. There's no way to get your piece to stay in any particular position, and the arms are so long you can't really get the lens centered over it. Might work if you were standing up, directly over it and don't mind it moving around while trying to solder.

Not horrible but expected more for the price. Not as sturdy as I would want for soldering

The arms with the alligator clips don't stay in place very well and they often need tightened at the base; needs lock washers or thread locking glue. The arms are way too long imho

I've used a few different third hands in the past, and this is easily the best one. The weight is perfect for keeping your project steady for the iron, and the arms keep everything in place. I have a higher-end magnifier on the bench at home, but the built-in one shined (see what I did there?) the other day when I took my stuff to a buddy's house.This thing is big, by the way. It's bigger than I thought it would be, but it doesn't take away from the product.
