HILARIOUS!
This is some of the best, most honest, hysterical writing on earth. I peed a little I laughed so hard! Samantha Irby is a brilliant voice for us elder millennials and our views on life - circumstantially jaded, introspective, ironic, and just the teensiest bit hopeful that things will work out eventually.

love Her
As delightful and vulgar as ever. I always laugh out loud at Samantha’s books. This is not her best showing in my opinion—there were several parts that felt more like fluff than substance—but still very good.

Disappointing
Ms. Irby is a talented writer. However, I found the incessant parade of profanities tiresome. In fact, their abundance got in the way of the humor. I stopped reading the book due to boredom. Ms. Irby is a fine humorist with a well-honed command of language that often left me basking in hilarity. However, this read was a disappointment. Too much over-the-top vulgarity which, if meant to shock, only produced tedium.

A-Freakin-Mazing!!!
Five stars hands down. The only memoir I ever related to as much as this one was Samantha Irby's We are Never Meeting in Real Life. I feel so connected to Ms. Irby after reading both of these and I understand SO much of what she has been through. She is incredibly open, honest, and humorous even when describing the most painful experiences she's had to endure. I wish she were my friend in real life and I hope to one day be able to write as well as she does.

Pretty hilarious
Samantha Irby's unique voice and humor place her, in all her glorious hairy meatiness, among the top storytellers around. Or, at least, the top living storytellers in Chicago. If you're a longtime reader of her blog, you'll find a few familiar stories, but there are plenty of new pieces that are as hilariously raunchy and achingly honest as her earlier writing. I found myself wanting to skip past the parts of her writing that are so self-deprecating--not in a falsely modest way, but just to the point where you want to shake her and say, "STOP, you are awesome, please get over how much you hate yourself."Don't read this if the thought of reading vivid descriptions of body parts makes your stomach turn, or if you'd rather not learn a dozen new nicknames for a vagina (my favorite was "womb hole"). Also don't read this story in public if you have poor bladder control.

Per Usual, Sam Does Not Disappoint!!
I've been a fan of Sam's blog for some time now. Sometimes, you find an awesome author, then they write an actual book and it sucks. NOT THE CASE HERE. I loved this book. Loved it almost as much as I love Sam. It's something that you can re-read, too, which is a bonus. If you're a fan of her blog, I highly recommend this book. If you're not, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Sam's writing is genius, and in Meaty, she displays that genius yet again - saying the things the rest of us want to say but don't dare to, and saying it with epic grace and epic swearing. The easily-offended need not bother purchasing this amazing book, as it is truly too wonderful for you. Those with a great sense of humor, ORDER IT NOW BEFORE IT'S OUT OF STOCK AGAIN! Sorry for all the caps, but I can't help it. This is a laugh out loud book. You WILL get strange looks as you're cracking up reading it in public, but no matter - hopefully it will encourage others to get with it and get this book. You will not be disappointed!

Flashes of genius
I've read several Samantha Irby books now and this is not my favourite. It has flashes of everything I love in her later books, but this is patchier and less sustained. I definitely could have done without the recipes, which in a book of essays about bowel movements and filthy sex, seemed somewhat jarring.

Amazing
This book is amazing. Lately I have been extremely busy with moving and working 2 jobs, I rarely have time to read. I've started 4 books and never finished them. This book I could not put down. A 3 hour wait in my doctor's office was a welcome inconvenience while I had this book.I am an avid reader of Bitchesgottaeat after being introduced to it by xoJane. I figured this book would be humorous only but it was honestly amazingly inspired while still being hysterical. When describing the hardships of living with a mother with MS, I was so sad and heartbroken. Something I didn't expect when I read this.Waiting for a sequel!

Loved this book and actually laughed out loud many times
What a brilliant author who calls it like she sees it, with plenty of sass and sarcasm and swearing throughout. A fun and humbling read. Perfect for the cottage or beach this summer!
