New Star Foodservice Pail Opener, 8.5-Inch, Silver

I received the bucket opener this afternoon and tested it on several 5-gallon food grade buckets this evening. I generally have difficulty removing the lids but they popped off without much effort when I used the opener. The flat "hammer" part made it easy to close them back up tightly.It is made from aluminum and is definitely a good quality tool. It is also lightweight when compared to some of the others I have used.Keep in mind that it is 8.5 inches long. I have used other bucket openers in the past that were slightly larger and was a bit surprised when I saw how small this was. The item description clearly stated 8.5" so it was entirely my fault that I expected something bigger.The size does not affect the way the tool works. I actually think I like the smaller size better because it is easier for me to handle and is easier to store when not in use.I would recommend this to anyone who regularly opens and closes large buckets. If you are purchasing bulk food for long time storage (e.g. prepping) this is a must have item!

I used to be a baker and used this type of tool daily all day. The one I used was cheap plastic. I now use buckets at home for food. Knew I needed the bucket opener. Having a metal opener is so much nicer and easier. Quality is sturdy and dependable. Great price!

I am not using the opener in food service industry. So this is the perfect tool for my needs.

I keep the snow melt salt in a 5 gallon bucket.Opening that in the winter time just got much easier.This bucket oper/closer is built well. I recommend one of these for anyone with a 5 gallon bucket. Saves your fingernails!

I like the durability, yet it is not too heavy. This works great on getting buckets open. The 5 gallon buckets are very difficult to open without a tool like this.

Didn’t know I needed this, but you DO for those bucket lids. This made it very easy to open. Without it, the entire top probably would have been torn up. I also wrote on the side of the handle what it is used for, since it doesn’t get used much!

Item built to fulfill its purpose. I liked the round hand grip at one end & long handle for leverage. The combo shows a desire to produce a useful tool. It was the existence of this tool that enabled me to purchase storage pails.

It’s light and durable, perfectly suitable to open pail easily rather than damaging my fingers when trying to open the new pail. I will use it anytime when working on fast food.

I like that this product is metal. Works well taking lids off of bucket. Bought specifically for my mom who has arthritis and this opener is easy for her to use.
