Applying wax to natural Lokta paper creates the batik design on this journal - and then each square is individually hand painted in different colours. This journal is completely handmade, naturally dyed, environmentally friendly, ethically traded and chemical/acid free. It is also very versatile with many potential uses including memory journal, small photo album in addition to general notes! Lokta is a sustainable resource ~ the bark of the plant is stripped away to make the paper and as the root system of the bush is not damaged it grows back!
