I was pleasantly surprised that this worked as promised right out of the box. I so far I have only tested the lightning to usb function to attach my Casio lighted keyboard to my iPad for synestsia. Since this was half the price of the camera adapter made by Apple I figured it would not work or would not see the keyboard. But it did. It also charged the keyboard while playing with a lightning pass through port.The lightning pass through does not provide enough power to fast chargean iPad onlykeep it powered on.

As their description states, will not work with any item requiring more than 100ma. I tried several flash drives. None worked. Presumably since they require more than 100ma. Response from iPhones and iPad Pro was the same "device requires too much power". Tried on iPhone 6-64GB, iPhone X-256GB and iPad Pro-256GB. I had power applied to the adapter on its lightning port and it powered through to all of the Apple devices, but that didn't make any difference. I was somewhat misled since one of the diagrams on Amazon shows many devices that can be connected to the USB port, one of which is a flash drive. I did not try any other devices.

Bought this for an international trip, so I could post through my phone pictures that I had taken on my digital camera. I had assumed that I would use it by plugging in this device and then inserting my SD card, but I could never get that to work. My iPhone kept saying “the accessory is incompatible”.However this device also has a place for a USB cord, so I discovered I could use my camera’s transfer wire, plug that into this reader, and then hook this reader up to my phone, and it worked much better. It didn’t take very long, and the few pictures I wanted to transfer came through great! Not sure why it wouldn’t work as a SD reader with my iPhone 8, but still got it to work...

I use this card reader to transfer photos from the memory card in my camera to my 2019 9.7" iPad when I travel. It works great! First plug the reader into the lightning port on the iPad. Then insert your memory card into the reader. The photo app opens in Import mode so you can import everything or pick and choose which photos to transfer. It's small, easy to transport, fast, and works every time. Never tried any of the other ports, so I can't comment on it's other capabilities. But it does what I bought it for, and I'm a very satisfied customer.

As warned, this does not work with iPhone. Phones don’t recognize it. Tried it on three different iPhones. Waste of money. Buyer beware.

This thing is great, I love hooking up my keyboards to it when I have to type out things on my phone

When this device is connected to an iPhone or ipad a message appears "cannot use accessory. This accessory requires too much power. " In essence this device will not work. Power consumption is too great.

Excellent product very practical, I recommend 100%

Less than 6 months old only used for trail camera but now does not work.I would not recommend it as I think with occasional use it should last longer
