Good option for a quality vest you can continue to use over and over. Not really sized for youth or small females
Well, I can't see like a deer, but here's what my human eyes can tell you:Pro:- Material is of a good quality, thickness and texture. NOT like some of the cheap "plasticky" feeling ones. Good weight canvas type material with roll finished edges. A bit stiff to begin with but should wear in nicely as any other canvas duck fabric. Material makes no noise with motion like synthetics.- BRIGHT orange. Like, bothers your eyes after a minute bright. As advertised, appears like just a solid block of orange to us. I shined a blood tracking flashlight on it and you can see the camo pattern on it as a lighter shade of orange.- Fulfills legal requirements for solid orange, while satisfying hunter's desire to not wear a solid patch of color.- If put away properly, should last several to many seasons.Con:- VELCRO IS NOISY. the center retaining strap is a pair of hook/loop straps that, when separated, make that disctinctive RRRRIPP sound that seems to carry light years in the quiet outdoors.- "One Size" fit begins at 6ft tall 200lbs. I stand 6'1" and am a very average 190lb frame. This thing swims around me. The only adjustment is the above mentioned velcro noisemaker. With the straps ovelapped as far as they go, the vest still could fit a bit snugger. The side straps are just stretch material, not very stretchy either, and cant be adjusted down any.- Price. But this doesnt matter if you agree with the camouflage and anti-UV argument, like I do.

Good Idea - Poorly Designed
Safety while hunting is important to me. So while I want to be as camouflaged as possible to the game, I want to stand out to other hunters. I read up on this vest and it seemed to be exactly that, but boy was it pricey for a simple style safety vest. Still, getting shot for being too cheap or glowing and spooking game over $30+ seemed silly to me. So I bought it. I was very disappointed with just how simple this vest looks and how stiff it felt. It doesn't look like much thought went into the design. Its not really adjustable other than the Velcro on the front. You are buying into their technology of the camo but this vest needs a redesign in my opinion. It is stiff and I would imagine somewhat noisy when worn due to the stiffness over your clothes. And it looks cheap. I haven't tried it yet for hunting as it might require some alterations make it fit more comfortable. Good idea, poor execution on style.

Keep the vest. Lose the velcro.
Overall I liked the vest, and considering I got a deer the first time I wore it, I'd have to say it worked. I was placed in an open and elevated stand. The velcro however, is a deal breaker. Everytime I moved, even a little bit, it broadcasted my position. After about two minutes I decided to undo the velcro and just wear the vest open. Even then it would rub on my coat and make a fair amount of noise. I'm going to keep the vest and use it again, but I will be removing the velcro and replacing it with tie strings.

This is a large vest - 650.44 sq-in; More than adequate for Colorado hunting
In Colorado, hunters are required to have at least 500 sq-in of solid orange above the waist, some of which must be on the head, visible from 360 degrees. I measured this vest to see if I could just cut off some of the bottom of the vest and place it around my cap. Easily done! The vest is a total of 650.44 in-sq, with a bit of extra not accounted for on the edges.Edit: Reduced to 2 stars. That's because although it has a UV-sensitive breakup pattern, in a black light, this vest lights up very brightly. I think this means that instead of a glowing solid threat, a deer now sees me as a glowing semi-broken up threat.

Packaging was a mess, but item was not damaged ...
Packaging was a mess, but item was not damaged. Will see how well this works in the field. Velcro closures are very noisy and have already been replaced with snaps.
