The cores are huge and kind of like a mosaic pin if you know what that is. Otherwise they sharpen nice hold good point and put out tons of different colors with every stroke. Really great for doing backgrounds on colored pencil pages

These pencils are a fun idea and are, in practice, also fairly fun to use. But they're also a bit erratic and do not consistently produce any kind of color pattern. You can control the color that "appears" a little bit by varying the angle and pressure, but this is also inconsistent. It also seems to me that the individual pencils (within the pack) are themselves inconsistent in the quality of color produced, the ability to produce different effects, etc., but that might just be my pack. I think these would be fun for anybody interested in freestyle drawing or coloring, but if you want precision, they're not for you. Still, they are a bit fun, and for the price, not bad. Just don't make them your go-tool coloring tool.

This is really cool how you get multiple colors from one pencil, my 8 year old son enjoyed drawing with these.

when I saw these I thought great I can multicolor in adult coloring the point shows multicolor however when u use them no multicolor mine did no work I do not use them

These made a really fun gift for my artistically inclined child. They don't have much control as far as using them for specific artistic endeavors but they are a lot of fun and are well made.
