Works fine, but is not easy to install
The part itself fits well and solved the fault. The levers delivered with it are too soft and can break. You need a puller with protected arms to remove the controller ring to replace the axis. Be extremely careful not to damage any panels or the controller knob itself! Expect a fiddly job to disconnect the controller cable. The instructions delivered with the kit are too short. Before you start, look on youtube for a visual description of the work (removal of the controller + disassembly) and plan your work. There are several small parts that are essential and could get lost if you start unprepared!

Easy job - Can be replaced in car by making a clever work area out of card board.
My comand controller knob on the C Class (W204) after 6 years stopped functioning. Up down and side to side and clicking down worked fine but the swivel that controls for example the zoom on the map had broken. The dealer fix was apparently approaching 600 Pounds. Thought this was worth a try. Quite a few videos on Youtube of how to do it. Just search for "Mercedes W204 C Class remove replace scrolling wheel comand".This kit comes with the trim tools you need and they worked great no damage. In addition you will need a Torx Screw driver set. (T8, T10 T20) and an small electrical screw driver. Now for the challenge, as highlighted in the video it is difficult to get the electical cable kit back through the console so I came up with a simple solution. After creating some slack in the cable. I got a bit of card board cut a small hole for the gear stick shaft, effectively making a small work area and fixed in situ within the car without having to completely remove the unit. No cutting wires or removing anymore trim. (See photo) A tray on the passenger seat was placed for the bits. I had no problems working on the unit sitting in my comfortable driving seat! - This worked brilliantly. The plastic shaft was broken as expected (see photo), the replacement in the kit worked perfect ! - job took about 45 minutes. - So pleased my Comand is now working perfectly.

Saved me Β£100's... dont be daunted!!
Brilliant, Saved me at least Β£100!!!!There is alot of tutorials out there but dont bother to try and actually remove the command controller totally.. remove all the trims etc and detach the contoller with the 2x T10 screws unmont the plug by the gearstick with a flat blade driver and carefully create some slack in the wiring (dont yank on it) lift the controller out once you have carefully moved the wiring and use a piece of cardboard (with a hole in it to pass the contoller through) as a work bench and follow the instructions/youtube videos.. its a very straightforward task but requires attention to detail to put everything back together correctly as its very easy to mis align certain parts. In summary a very very good product.. dont buy the Β£10 ones as the trim tools you get with this really help the job along.. dont be daunted by the task.. its all a step by step common sense exercise.Good luck!

Brilliant solution for W204 COMAND controller wheel repair
This product arrived promptly - exactly what you need to fix the COMAND controller - fitted to a W204 2010 C-class. Worth paying extra for the tools supplied as they are perfect for removing fascia and interior fixings to get the COMAND controller wheel out of the car. Instructions sent are in German but emailed by seller immediately upon dispatch with links to videos (in English) to explain the repair process.Nice aluminium replacement for a poor OEM plastic part - should last. Once I have fitted this the COMAND controller wheel is working as per factory intention.Would buy from this seller again - very pleased with this product so far

Cabriolet users beware!
Bought for my e350 cabriolet. Was pulling my hair out fitting it as all instructions:videos relate to the coupe or saloon! On the cabs you have to take the whole armrest out. There are screws behind the very back of the armrest behind the end panel. When thatβs off itβs pretty easy using the you tube video. When completed I felt like a brain surgeon

Excellent product with the right tools to help you with the job!
Took less than 60 seconds to remove the side metal trims with the tools supplied and another 5 seconds to remove the trim around the control knob. The aluminium scroll bar was a perfect fit replacement for the cheap plastic bar that was installed from the factory from day one and which broke literally a month after the warranty expired.Recommend this as a replacement!

Good result!
The result is good once all the work is done replacing the original plastic shaft on the switch with this metal one.Bit of a challenge doing it all nicely and remember you will also need special screwdrivers to take apart the actual switch assembly.Working perfectly now.
