Cheap plastic outer cover. The heavy inner heater was held up by the plastic brackets that are part of the outer cover and were all cracked and broken on arrival and the inner heater just rested on the bottom of the heater frame. Very cheap bracket design. Tried to return and had no response from seller. Was refunded my money because of A to Z Amazon policy.

Works well good for really small jobs
I use it in my spa, which is build into my pool. It isn't very big, 6 people max. My only complaint is for that small a spa it takes 2 hours to heat to the 104 max.

This heater works great when used as intended
This heater works great when used as intended. It is only 125,000 BTU. Buyer beware!!! If you order online, pentair has limited warranty support for online purchases ( as do Hayward and zodiac). When brackets and body panels show up broken, this is a shipping issue. When you purchase a heater from a pool service, they don't show up physically broken. A Ph of 6.2 is corrosive, checking your pool Chems once a month is recipe for disaster... even if you have been taking care of your pool for 20 years, that is just stupid!!! Previous reviewer obviously didn't learn a valuable lesson! I laughed when I read his review!!! To another reviewer, yes 2 hours to heat a small spa is normal for a 125k heater... a 400k will heat said spa in less than 30 minutes! If you are looking for a pool heater, do not buy online, have it sized to your pool/spa by a professional and remember, factory warranty does not cover stupid!!!

Logic board failure leads to frustration
Mine MasterTemp 125 failed after a year. Apparently, tighter efficiency mandated by our government (which I'm all for BTW) wasn't handled well by Pentair engineers. The logic board failed on the unit and replacements didn't work either. Currently, I'm on hold with their tech support (16 minutes so far) to have my case reopened. Thought I'd spend the time writing this review. Helps relieve my frustration. Maybe this time I'll get a logic board that works. They've had a year to work on it.
