It presses very well.
We just made eight gallons. I was concerned the bottomless bin would raise up. Not a problem and never happened. The short throw of the jack made for about two resets each press. Having a couple 2 inch blocks handy, as well as the tall large block (included) is very helpful. You will need a large tray to capture the juice as this sits low, the feet will allow you to adjust height an extra inch. It does a great job extracting as much juice as possible. Avoid pushing the base of the jack too far into the bin, or you will need pliers to release it. Quite happy with our purchase.

Works great
Really works great. The jack makes it really easy to press the cider. Note that 1 end of the jack handle will turn the lever on the valve; you don't need separate plyers. Watch the video that is included in the Amazon description, & basically you'll have all the info you need to use it. You may want an extra block of wood to put under the jack, especially if you don't fill the apple area to its max capacity.

very solid - works quite well
all components are very solid. Plenty of pressure with the hydraulic jack. All components easy to clean except the funnel on the grinder, since it's attached to the motor. We had to attach the grinder to a plywood board in order to set it above the juicer, but operating it setting above the 5 gallon juice container saves one step in the operation. The lever to turn on or off the hydraulic jack pressure is small and difficult to operate with fingers. It requires plyers. Should be larger and easier to operate with fingers. The filter bags work very well, are strong, and easy to clean - rinse out or throw in laundry afterward.

nice press
most of the design and construction is done very well. it is curious to me though, why the range you may elevate the top portion to is so limited. And i suspect that if the hydraulic jack really produces 2 tons of force, that those hand tightened bolts on each leg might just tend to slide a bit. i will likely put it on the drill press and make some holes for new stainless steel bolts that will save my hands from trying to tighten the provided bolts into oblivion. Otherwise a nice replacement for my home-made gizmo for my 12 ton hydraulic shop press for making apple and pear cider!

Fruit press
This fruit press is amazing!!!! There were NO directions, however, but once we figured out how it works it was great , I would recommend cutting apples into small pieces. And find someone with a mechanical mind , like I said NO instructions!!!!!!!

Hydraulic jack broke after third use.
The hydraulic jack broke after the third use. It's so aggravating. Now I have to figure out if I can send it back, where to send it back, how to pack it, etc. Plus, it broke while I was trying to press a bunch of apples, so I had open up my truck and drag the car jack out to finish. To be fair, the rest of the equipment is good.
